Praying Pelican Missions was established in 2003 with a heart and vision to impact the entire world for Christ. One country, one city, one community at a time. As God’s ministry expands through Praying Pelican Missions, we recognize a few of the essential traits of Praying Pelican Missions that create a unique, healthy, and dynamic ministry environment.

What makes us different than other mission’s organizations?

Pastoral Vision:
Nobody sees a clearer vision of how to reach a nation for Christ than the leaders of the local Christian church. Our teams serve within the vision of the pastoral leadership of each nation. We are approved and authorized to serve in all our locations by the local church, and we respect and honor their leadership. This philosophy ensures that our teams are ministering within the overall spiritual vision for the entire nation, determined by those who know it best.

Authentic Partnership:
Healthy relationships are a two way street. It’s not just about your team having a powerful mission experience. It’s about God using you to create an equally powerful and life changing week for the people you are serving. The pastors, Praying Pelican Missions staff, and community you’ll be building relationships with are part of a genuine partnership between the community and Praying Pelican Missions. We have local staff from every country we serve that help guide, lead, and direct our teams, in conjunction with our staff from North America. We work together, have fun together, and serve Christ together. You will experience this authentic partnership on every Praying Pelican Missions trip.

Your Freedom:
Nobody knows your mission team better than you. We acknowledge and respect your leadership in ministry. Our goal for your mission trip is to create a safe, healthy environment that will promote personal and spiritual growth for your team at a level they’ve never experienced before (and for the local community as well). Praying Pelican Missions handles all of the logistics so that you can focus on day-to-day relationships and ministry. You are free to continue leading your team, choosing the ministry options that best suit your gifts, while on a Praying Pelican Missions trip. You just won’t have to worry about the day-to-day specifics!

Long-term relationships:
When you connect spiritually and socially with a community on a mission trip, Praying Pelican Missions wants you to have the opportunity to continue those relationships and watch God work year after year. Over half of our teams return to the community they first served in, and continue to foster and develop those relationships on deeper levels. At Praying Pelican Missions, we see ourselves as the bridge to initially developing those relationships and continuing to watch them grow. We are excited to see how the Lord will continue to work in and through those relationships.
