Safely arrived!
by Ed
March 11, 2012 at 11:42 PM

Today we flew into Cancun and headed four hours south to Bacalar, Mexico. We enjoyed the pleasant weather and we are looking forward to a great week ahead. We settled in at the Oasis Center and shared a meal and fellowship. We did lose five bags at the airport and are praying that they arrive tomorrow.
We are looking forward to heading out to Naranjal tomorrow to start our first full day of ministry.
Thanks for your continued prayers for our team!

Naranjal!
by Jason Swartz
March 12, 2012 at 10:51 PM

This morning we drove quite the distance to the small Mayan Village of Naranjal. We took a tour of the church, pastor's house, kitchen, and toilet. We were blessed to interact with 50 - 70 children through sports, games, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and much more. The local children were excited we came to visit. We worshiped with the local church to celebrate the church's 21st anniversary. We packed out the church with 200 people. We did receive the five bags that were lost on the flight yesterday, today! Thanks for your prayers.
We continue to look forward to all that God will do this week.

A day to remember!

We have been enjoying our time ministering in Naranjal this week. It has been a blessing to learn about village life, play games and sports with the children, work on building the walls of the local church, and putting on a children's program. Thank you for your prayers!

Destruction Ministry
by Jason Swartz
March 16, 2012 at 11:13 PM

In 2007 Hurricane Dean destroyed many churches in the Yucatan. Five years later, many, many churches are still not rebuilt. Praying Pelican was the first short term mission team to spend a week at this church. We are constructing a new building and breaking down the walls of the damaged building.
