We have arrived in Jamaica safe and sound! All travel went smoothly. After packing up the bus and meeting with the other group we headed into town for some Jamaican jerk chicken. We then drove south to the town of Maggotty where we will be staying for the week. Got settled in at our guesthouse before heading east to Balaclava. We met Pastor Claude Williams and some leaders at the church. After having dinner in Balaclava we headed back to the guesthouse to get ready for bed and prepare for tomorrow. We will post a team picture as soon as we get better internet access! Keep you posted! Thanks for your prayers!

Today has been great thus far. We were off to a quick start this morning by sharing in morning devotions at the Balaclava Primary School. Afterwards, we split into different groups for ministry. One group went to the Missionaries of Charity home, another went to be involved in the construction of Michelle's house, and another joined Damian at the Manse (or parsonage) as they tore out an old roof on the "catch me" tank and prepared the exterior of the home for painting. We're excited about what God is doing. After a long afternoon rain shower, during which we shared our life stories with each other, we headed out to the local community center where our team is currently playing games and interacting with well over 100 children. Another team is at the Missionaries of Charity right now and we're looking forward to a church service tonight in Roses Valley! We love you all back home! The password to post comments for our team is "prayers"

Some of our team members began work on Michelle's house this morning. Tomorrow we're ready to lay a little more block and hopefully pour the foundation, and then begin the walls!

Our ministry is continuing today as we progress with the work projects at both the Manse and at Michelle's new home. We've got another group serving at the Missionaries of Charity and our team from San Diego is out in Roses Valley today once again. We're excited for another afternoon of sports ministry, outreach and time at the Missionaries of Charity. God is so good! We're having an amazing week

It’s Wednesday morning and our team has been hard at work at the Manse and out at the site for Michelle’s new home. We were blessed to be able to spend some time with Michelle yesterday as she was around at the work site. One of our teams is working on putting together the bunk beds that are for her home and we’re excited to give those to her towards the end of this week. This afternoon we’ll be spending more time at the community center with the children from the area and we’ll continue our ministry at the Missionaries of Charity home. God is good and we continue to be blessed by our time in Balaclava. Please continue to pray for us, especially for a few that are not quite feeling well. Thanks for your continued prayers and support.
Final days in Jamaica

The past couple of days we've seen God work in really neat ways. Michelle's home is nearly finished, it needs a couple windows and a cement floor and she'll be ready to move in. Our team finished painting about seventy five percent of the interior of the Balaclava Baptist Church. We also had a great time ministering to the children and youths through sports at the community center. The Balaclava Baptist Church showed us great appreciation by having a special service for us and giving each of us a certificate of appreciation. Today is Friday and although it's rained most of the day (like a lot of the week) we enjoyed our time at YS Falls swimming, going on a zip line adventure, and relaxing. We're currently in Mandeville eating dinner and getting ready to head back to our guest house in Maggotty, which I'm sure all of us will miss to some extent. Especially those 3am morning roosters! Tomorrow we'll be hitting the beach briefly before we head back home to all of you. Pray for safe travel and provision. We've had an amazing week and God has done wonderful things. We'll see you all soon!
