We are here!
by Mike Korth
January 10, 2011 at 09:30 AM

We have made it safely to Belize and have quite a week planned! Please be praying for us as we begin our week of ministry today.
This morning we are at one of the schools in Hattieville, teaching the children about common health risks and being proactive in preventing disease and sickness. The children are so full of energy -we are having LOADS of fun!
This afternoon we will visit the retirement center and spend time in fellowship with the residents there.

Golden Haven

Yesterday afternoon we had the opportunity to visit the Golden Haven Retirement Center here in Hattieville. For a few hours yesterday we were all graced with great conversation and music with the Belizeans that reside there.
This morning we spent time with discussing health and fitness at the government school in Hattieville. Those children are quite rambunctious, but we had a wonderful time.
Please be praying for our service tonight in Hattieville and our service tomorrow night in Bermudian Landing where we will be sharing the word and discussing health topics with those in attendance.

Hearts for Belize
by Mike Korth
January 12, 2011 at 02:45 PM

Last night's service went wonderfully! Thank you for all of the prayers...
Members from our group helped lead music with the band at the church, others of us gave our testimony, and Josh gave a message. Through these activities, we were able to share our hearts with the people of Hattieville. After the service, we were able to give advice and check on the hearts of the people there. We took blood pressure, checked blood sugar levels, prayed with people, and gave out information on general health topics. We will be participating in a similar service in Bermudian Landing tonight.

Bermudian Landing

January 13, 2011 at 03:51 PM

Last night we packed God's house in Bermudian Landing. We led the service with music, testimonies, and a message from Doug. There were people present who committed and re-committed their lives to Christ. Afterward, we met in the back building for health education and screenings -a basic service that a lot of Belizeans lack.
This morning we were at the Adventist School in Hattieville teaching classes and having fun with the children there. This afternoon we spent time at the Youth Hostel and School, playing volleyball and basketball, and also giving instruction and sharing devotions with the youth there.

Ladyville

January 14, 2011 at 09:59 AM

This morning we got up early to travel to the town of Ladyville to work at the Evangelical school there. Friday is the normal chapel day for the students, so we are working with three different large groups during their chapel time. We are having a great time and can't believe that this is our last full day of ministry.
This afternoon we will drive into the city for a hospital visit where we will meet with Belizean health professionals, and we will have a chance to spend time with a few patients. Tomorrow we will visit the Children's Home in Belize City before our flight out.
Please connect with us when we return home this weekend and ask about our adventures in ministry this week. Thank you for all of the comments and all of the prayers -keep them coming! God is on the move!
