We're Here!

After a long day of travel, we are happy to be at our final destination; Muffles College in Orange Walk, Belize!

We jumped right into ministry today, stopping by Liberty Children's Home to play and read with the children who live there. Then it was off to Orange Walk, to become familiar with our "home" for the week. Ms. Celina cooked us a delicious Belizean meal before we had a time of worship with one another.

Tomorrow morning, we will take off to San Estevan (the village where the church is located). Thank you all for the prayers and support from back home!

Sunday Ministry

Today was a busy day. In the morning we worked at the church, we worked on digging holes to place posts. Some of the group went door to door and invited kids to play sports with us and to come to VBS in the afternoon. Another part went and played games such as soccer with the kids.
In the afternoon we helped out with VBS. There was about 100 children there today.
Tonight we are going to church for the service. We are excited to get to know the congregation and the pastor tonight.

Update on our week!

To give a glimpse as to what our days look like; we begin each morning by going out to San Estevan. There, about half the group begins construction on a children’s Sunday school room next to the church. The other half has been visiting homes and talking with people in the community. Of course, we can’t get too far without finding children to play soccer and games with. It’s been fun getting to know the children in San Estevan.

In the afternoon, we go to the Lion’s Den for VBS. The Lions Den is this great outdoor space, underneath a thatched roof, right alongside a beautiful river. Our team has learned some songs in Spanish and had fun doing the motions and dancing with all the kids during worship time. We’ve made handmade puppets and salvation bracelets with the children. There have been well over 100 kids coming every day.

In the evenings, we regroup and have a time to talk about our day and what all God is doing at the different ministry sites. Last night, we had a great time of worship; bringing together all three groups from Wisconsin, Texas and Ohio. We had the opportunity to share our life stories with each other and learn more about our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Mayan Ruins

Today we went to Lamani, a Mayan ruin site. It was amazing!! We climbed to the top of the High Temple, we could see forever. The view from up there is breathtaking. You cannot help but be in awe of God's beautiful creation.
Then in the afternoon we went to VBS and had so much fun hanging out again with all the kids. They have so much energy and just welcome us right into their lives. We have been learning some new Spanish VBS songs and dances.

We had our last day at San Estevan today! We spent the day doing VBS and painting the ministry site. We even finished our service project at Arnoldo's house!

That evening, we had a beautiful night of worship and both the pastor and Jacob preached. Many children from our VBS showed up, and even brought their parents! We were sad to say goodbye but overjoyed to have a night of worship and fellowship.

Tomorrow, we will all go to the Caye to spend a day and a night.

I am so glad you all made it safely. I am praying for you (Randy) and all the others from CRBC. I know you are all a blessing to the people in Belize, so keep up the good work! Be sure you remember to pray daily for the Lord to work in you, and through you, and take plenty of pictures to share with us when you get back.
