We have made it safe and sound! Thank you all for your prayers. A detailed update and pictures will come tomorrow. We are excited to get some rest tonight and then join the Haitian church in worship early tomorrow morning!

One thing we can all agree on, Mondays are better in Haiti. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise, ate breakfast, and jumped on the bus. Today was our first day at our worksite. This week, we are continuing construction on the Church and School of Mariani. We spent time passing blocks and buckets of dirt as the workers prepared the floor of one of the rooms to be poured tomorrow. It was very exciting as many of the community members came out to help us.

To end the day, we spent some time doing kids ministry with the children. They are so joyful and excited that we are there to be with them. We loved on them and played with them until it was time to go.

Tonight, we are resting as we prepare for another day at the worksite tomorrow. We will also have the opportunity to visit an orphanage. Thank you all for your prayers! We love Haiti!

Today was another great day in Haiti. We started off our day with our normal routine of getting dressed, eating breakfast, and hopping on the bus. From there, we headed back out to Mariani where we continued the work on the school. Today, our job was to pour the floor in one of the classrooms. We passed bucket after bucket as the floor began to take shape. It took us until 1:00pm to complete the project. From there, we snapped a quick picture and headed down to the bus.

After a quick shower and change of clothes at the lodging facility, we loaded the bus once again and headed to Good Shepherd orphanage. Today, we had the awesome opportunity to love on the kids there. We played soccer, basketball, colored, and simply loved. We will never forget those precious faces.

Tonight we are resting at our lodging facility. Keep praying! Tomorrow is our last full day of ministry in the community of Mariani.

Today we woke up to clear skies as we got dressed, had our usual breakfast, and joined the rest of our team on the bus. Today we left for Mariani knowing that it would be our last visit for the year. We arrived and jumped right in passing buckets to complete the last floor in the school. Our goal was to have it done by mid afternoon and then love on the kids the rest of the day. We worked hard and completed our goal just in time! Shortly after we finished, the once clear skies turned grey and the rain began to pour. We said our goodbyes to the community, hugged the kids that had helped us all week, and headed down to the bus to get out of the rain. One thing we have learned is that when it rains in Haiti, everything stops. With that, we headed back to the lodging facility a little earlier today. Once there, a game of soccer started in the court yard with a few of the kids that were in the area. A group of us also went on a walk in the community. It was great to spend the rest of the afternoon just taking it all in.

Tonight, we met as a group reflecting on all that Haiti has to offer. Haiti truly is a beautiful country with wonderful people. We can't wait to tell you about it!

Tomorrow we will head to the coastal city of Jacmel where we will visit the beach and enjoy the country that we have fallen in love with.
