We've arrived!!!by Bill Armstrong, Lorrie Selbo June 24, 2012 at 10:21 PM We've arrived safely in Belize after a long day of travel. Praise God!!! We're all settled in at Central Assembly of God in Belize City. We'll be starting our VBS, Sports and Service ministries tomorrow after a good nights rest. We're excited to fulfill the mission God has planned for us. Thanks for your prayers.
Libertyville Rocks VBS!!!by Bill Armstrong, Lorrie Selbo June 25, 2012 at 09:43 PM Monday ministries began with a successful bible school. We provided games, awesome music, crafts and stories of Daniel to the children of Central Assembly of God Christian School. Afternoon activities included: painting inside of the church, home visits and sports ministries with the children of Belize City. We prayed with people in their homes; we played soccer, basketball and football with children in the park. Its very hot and humid here in Belize but everyone is still smiling and having fun!! Its a privilege to glorify God with our brothers and sisters here in Belize. Thanks for your continued prayers. How great is our God!
'Coconut Moments' by Bill Armstrong, Lorrie Selbo June 26, 2012 at 10:51 PM We returned to the school for VBS in the morning. The kids enjoyed finger painting today. After lunch we started our service projects headed up by Tom who is a God send. We painted the inside of the church and refurbished playground equipment. Tom replaced the swings and even added a tire swing. Many of the girls had their hair braided at the mini salon we set up here at the church :) lol. Later in the afternoon we did some home visits and hosted another sporting ministry at the park. We had a few 'coconut' moments today; several of the boys picked fresh coconuts off the tree and then the entire group went swimming at the Belizean Beach. Libertyville continues to rock the house with songs of praise and worship all day long. Giving God the glory in all that we do. As always thank you so much for your continued prayers!
Libertyville is on FIRE!!!by Bill Armstrong, Lorrie Selbo June 27, 2012 at 11:10 PM The heat didn't get in the way of our ministries. Libertyville hosted an even hotter VBS. The kids at Central Assembly of God loved the drama about Daniels friends being freed from the furnace because of their faithfulness. We remain faithful that God's mission too will be done. We had a break this afternoon from all the hard work and went to the Mayan ruins of Altun Ha. Highlights include: eating termites, petting crocodiles, buying souvenirs and watching Tyler throw a Frisbee from the top of the highest ruin and watching Brian catch it from below! This evening we joined our pelican friends from California at Westside Assembly of God to worship and give praises to God. Thanks for your prayers again.
Libertyville SCORES!!!! :)by Bill Armstrong, Lorrie Selbo June 28, 2012 at 10:08 PM Our Sports Ministry concluded today at Kings Park. We added face paintings by Caroline. It was Gospel Day at VBS. Our ministry team asked the children to invite Jesus into their lives. After lunch we visited Tourist Village for a little shopping. We learned how to barter for the best prices. Then in the afternoon we painted till it became dark. We painted: bathrooms, school walls, and the playground area. It makes the facility looks bright and cheerful. We are reminded that Jesus brightens up our life! It was the boys day at the salon. Several of them got Belizean Buzz cuts. Parents be prepared. Giving God the glory for all that we do. As always, thanks for your prayers.
Cooling off... Winding down...by Bill Armstrong, Lorrie Selbo June 29, 2012 at 08:22 PM Today was the last day of our ministries. We finished Vacation Bible School at Central Christian School.. There were a lot of sad faces on the children..awwww.. :( It was hard to say goodbye to the Evangelical Free Church. After a long week of hard work in the heat we spend the afternoon cooling off at the water park known as Bacab. After dinner we finished our painting projects. We'll wrap up God's mission with a closing worship filled with songs, prayers and praises. To God be the glory for an awesome week. We'll be leaving Belize in the morning. Please pray for our safe travels. Find out more about our trips to
