We have arrived!
by Staff June 24, 2012 at 01:02 PM The team from Central Reformed Church arrived safely here in Belize yesterday. After taking a quick tour of the city and enjoying some pizza from Pepper's Pizza we loaded the bus and took off for Succotz and the Nazarene Church camp where we will be staying for the week. We took a short stop at a restaurant called Cheer's where we had a burrito bar and continued on our journey arriving at 8:00. We are doing well and can't wait for this wonderful week of ministry which God has planned for us.
1st day Adventures in Succotzby Staff June 24, 2012 at 01:32 PM As we woke up this morning, it was great to have it be in beautiful Succotz Belize. After an amazing breakfast of Fry Jacks we headed off to attend the Sunday School service at Benque Baptist church. There, members of Central Reformed got to take part in worship and children's church. We also were blessed to hear a sermon from Pastor Luis. In the afternoon we headed off into the community around the church to spread the news of our sports ministry and to pray with them. Last, we will be attending the evening service at Benque Baptist to enjoy more worship and fellowship with the people of the church. CRC trip members are really excited to be here and looking forward to telling everyone back home of the many great adventures when they return.
Another warm day in Belize
by Ryan Jacob June 25, 2012 at 10:15 PM Another beautiful day in Belize. Today was our first day officially working in our various ministries in the Succotz area. The Central Reformed group started the day off with a healthy breakfast of Johnny cakes and then headed off to work. We were spread into three different groups for today's ministries. First was the Benque Baptist church where a team is constructing a staircase for the new church building. The second group is partnering with a local school to both paint the building and spend some time with the children. Last but certainly not least, we have a group helping out with a local Nazarene Church to continue construction on a second level. The groups at CR have been highly motivated and productive in our first whole day of ministry together. Our last activity of the day was VBS with the children of the Benque community. About 40 children were included in fun bible games, sports, and crafts. I have to say that it has been a blessing seeing the members of the CR group and their ability to get kids excited for Christ! We are looking forward to a little bit of time off tomorrow as we venture over to the Xunantunich Mayan ruins. Until we speak again, continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we seek to accomplish more for His kingdom. God Bless!

Last hurrah!
by Ryan Jacob June 27, 2012 at 11:44 AM It is our last day of ministry here in the beautiful mountains of Belize. After waking up and enjoying breakfast, all the different teams headed off towards their different work sites to give one last push. Crews have continued to work towards putting up the staircase at Benque Baptist, building a second level at Church of the Nazarene, and painting at the local elementary school. This evening we will be finishing off the trip with one more amazing afternoon of VBS, in which we will be expecting even more children to come. It has been so encouraging to see the amount of things that Central Reformed has been able to do here in Belize and we all are so appreciative of your prayers and support. Tomorrow we are headed out to the Caye to enjoy some time of relaxing and reflecting. Find out more about our trips to

Duncan MacleanSounds like an excellent beginning to what I am sure will be a wonder-filled week. We prayed for you today in worship and, of course, continue to "pray without ceasing". I like the symmetry of serving with a small Baptist Church in Succotz, and a small Baptist Church in Sutton. Shalom
