We Made It!!!!
by Michelle July 22, 2012 at 08:39 PM We made it! We are in Belize! We had our first taste of belize at a chinese restuarant. It was amazing. Then we traveled to Orange Walk, where we will be staying at Muffles College. We got settled in and ate our first meal at our new lodging for the next week. After dinner we are going to the church were we will be serviing this week. We get to meet the pastor and the congregation tonight.
VBS YES! by Shannon Simonton July 23, 2012 at 09:10 PM Today was such an amazing day! At 8:15 am we loaded the bus and headed out to our first day of vacation bible school. We did skits, played games, did arts and crafts, told a bible story, and just had tons of fun. The kids were awesome and we cannot wait to get to know them on a deeper level as the week goes on.
Old Folksby Shannon Simonton July 23, 2012 at 09:11 PM Even old people can enjoy VBS! What a fun skit!
Soccer (Futbol) Camp! by Shannon Simonton July 23, 2012 at 09:14 PM Fun fun fun!! That is exactly what we had at soccer camp today. We did drills, played some little games, and then had one huge game with all the kids. Then later, we played Praying Pelican people verses Belizean teenagers! Guess who won? Ya... the Belizeans. But we still had an amazing time. AND it also rained on us. Nothing better then playing Futbol in the rain.
Soaked and Smilingby Shannon Simonton July 23, 2012 at 09:17 PM The rain definitely did not put a damper on our spirits today. Let the ministry continue! Thank you to everyone who donated soccer balls!!
Making Bandannasby Shannon Simonton July 25, 2012 at 09:09 PM During our second day at VBS we decorated bandannas! Many of the kids wrote Bible verses on them and they all drew wonderful pictures. They were so beautiful.
All Smilesby Shannon Simonton July 25, 2012 at 09:12 PM No frowns here at VBS!! We love reaching our to the children; they each have such different stories and it is so life changing for us to listen to them and get to know them on a personal level.
Hole Diggerby Shannon Simonton July 25, 2012 at 09:19 PM Yesterday was the first day of construction. We dug 12 three foot deep holes that we later will put wooden poles into. It was a lot of work but it was accomplished! Praise Jesus!
Sports Ministryby Shannon Simonton July 25, 2012 at 09:22 PM Sports ministry was so much fun today!! After playing soccer, we just messed around and played some red rover, tag, and ninja. Apparently CJ is just as good with little kids as he is with teenagers!
ON YOUR MARK!!!by Shannon Simonton July 25, 2012 at 09:28 PM Tonight Carol led women's Bible Study; 24 women showed up!!! We talked about how difficult it is raising children, but how awesome it is that God tells us everything we need to know through His holy word. While the women were leading study, the men babysat! And they did a fantastic job. Just look at those smiling faces.
Lay Down Your Burdensby Shannon Simonton July 25, 2012 at 09:49 PM Last night was youth night. Stephanie shared a redeeming message of how through Jesus changes us from people full of sin to people who are clean and pure. She challenged the youth to get rid of those things that are separating them from Christ and put away their old selves. We gave them note cards and they wrote down the things that we keeping them from Jesus, and then they nailed it to the cross. It was a powerful moment watching them walk up to the cross and let Jesus take away their burdens.
MAYAN TEMPLESby Shannon Simonton July 25, 2012 at 09:55 PM Today after doing VBS and doing more construction, we went to the Mayan temples. After a long and bumpy bus ride we finally made it. What a site to see!! We were able to climb up the steep steps and take a look at Belize from 150 feet in the air. Also, we saw monkeys! Yes!
Its Cowboy Timeby Shannon Simonton July 27, 2012 at 10:14 PM Yesterday at VBS we made cowboy vests!! The kids had so much fun and so did we.
Construction Continuesby Shannon Simonton July 27, 2012 at 10:16 PM Paul and Zach working hard on the construction. It is going great and hopefully they will be finished by the time we leave.
Last day of VBSby Shannon Simonton July 27, 2012 at 10:25 PM During our last day of VBS, we finished up the skit, played game, and had some fun coloring. The kids kept telling us over and over how sad they were that this was our last day. That alone is evidence that we have made an impact on this group of kids. All the glory goes to God!!!
Lovin on the Kidsby Shannon Simonton July 27, 2012 at 10:30 PM Here is a picture of Paul just lovin on the kids!
Painting Benchesby Shannon Simonton July 27, 2012 at 10:35 PM We love painting!! Today we painted all of the pews in the church. It was a lot of work but we had tons of fun doing it. We even had a paint war. Don't mess with us Ohio people, when we have wars we get serious!!!
Last day of Futbolby Shannon Simonton July 27, 2012 at 10:37 PM Our last day of Futbol was filled with tournaments, medals, and t-shirts! The children were over joyed to put on their shirts and shoot some balls into the goal. What an awesome day!
Goodbyeby Shannon Simonton July 27, 2012 at 10:45 PM Many tears were shed tonight at our closing ceremony. They were tears of happiness, sadness and joy. We have made so many wonderful friends here in San Roman and we pray that we will see them again someday. For tonight, its time to get ready to go to the Caye! We will see you all very soon and we cannot wait to tell you all about our stay in Belize. Find out more about our trips to

Find out more about Deborah FoellMy Dearest Anna,
I wrote a wonderful note. But got the password wrong. Now that I finally got the password....
I MISS YOU I MISS YOU I MISS YOU I MISS YOU I MISS YOU
I know it's one of your last days...and your last service day (if I remember your schedule correctly). Regardless, I pray that you will grant someone with one of your gorgeous smiles, lend a helping hand, and take advantage of each moment and opportunity you have left today (and tomorrow!).
Did I mention that I miss you?
This trip is not over until you are in my arms. So never stop looking for opportunities to share the love of Christ that is radiating out of you.
MISS YOU.
Hugs, Kisses, and Prayers,
Your Favorite Sister Deborah
Jason BoucourasYou all missed some prime comedy from the one and only Jeff Kuhne this morning.
John HimmelsteinHello from the Gringos y Gringas of Belize...and Anna!!
1) Glorianna thinks cows are boyz
2) Anna forgot her sunscreen
3) Gail - I need to get my stitches out when I get back. I lost a fight with a fan!!
4) Cj, Zach and Mr. H all got hit with the big "D" mid-week. Thank heavens Ceej brought some meds!! It was interesting racing to the San Ramon outhouse (if you can even say that!!).
5) Jeremy - Jamie said Jeff can go golfing, but only after she's been able to catch up on her sleep....and you do all the laundry!!
Can't wait to see all of you Sunday night. It's been an amazing trip. We actually found a Belizian Internet Cafe that sells Ice Cream. AMEN!! See you all soon!!
Rechelle Frashso while you were out, a lot has happened around the world...the olympics began, christian bale visited the victims in aurora, american idol has named yet another new judge, it has actually rained in ohio, dancing with the stars has announced it's next cast, rick nash is no longer a columbus blue jacket...but among all this news, the only news I want to know is what has been happening in Belize! Can't wait to hear :)
Joy FlemmingUmm I'm not very good at long poetic messages. Deborah or Jeff could you write one for me? Hope you work out those technical problems otherwise the team may not know how much I care. Team, Olympic opening ceremony games were cool but look up Mr Bean playing Chariots of Fire if you need a stress reliever in the airports :).
GwenMissing you all and can hardly wait to see you on Sunday night. Have a great time and be the wonderful blessings that you are to all you meet there and on your way home. Love to all!!!
Sam WalkWait...Rachael... why exactly would the leaders be getting tired? are you trying to say they are old?
Rachael KneiceHey guys! So it's Friday, is this your day to do tourist-y stuff? I forget. Have fun, and bring me back some souvenirs! ;) My last shout-outs will all be crammed onto here because I'm leaving for camp in about an hour and forgot to post this morning. So here goes:
Shout-out to Glory, Abbi, and MaryAnna! So excited for you guys to be out there, since it's your first trip and all. Go hard and finish strong, guys. Week's almost over, so leave it all behind.
Shout-outs to all the amazing leaders, CJ, Jamie, Mr. Perger, Mr. H, and Mrs. Linville. You guys rock for going out there and doing this stuff. Don't get tired, you're almost done. :)
Lastly, shout-outs to Zach and Megan, who I really don't know...but I'm sure you guys are nice people anyway. :D
And thus ends all my comments, that you guys probably haven't read all of, but that's okay. You'll see them later. Still praying for you guys, and super excited to hear all that God's doing out there when you come home!
Joy FlemmingYeah I was a little worried about the state of those Reese's after looking at the weather channel. 89 degrees but feels like 103 with the humitity. Brutal! But hey it looks like God is being good to you and you are making the best of it. Proud of each one of you Team Belize. Serve strong your last day and enjoy some R and R. To all my daughters (you know who you are) you are well loved and Mama Joy has your back!
Carol LinvilleThank you so much for the birthday wishes! It has been awesome. The team surprised me w/ a tray full of very melted mini reeses cups in the shape of a cake with candles that one of our lovely children lit. My second cake was strawberry and YUMMY! I am looking forward to spending this evening worshiping w/ our new friends and the team!
Auntie GwenGlory and Anna, did the boys let you show your stuff in soccer? You go girls!! Z, I'm glad you learned how to dig holes during Sterling's Eagle Scout project so you had those skills to put to use down there. I love the picture of Z, J, CJ, and B carrying kids on your backs. It looks like you and the kids were having a blast. M, I'm praying for God's hedge of protection over you so that no bugs think that you taste good. Love to all!!!
Katherine RhodesHappy birthday Carol, Happy anniversary to Jamie! This is a shout out to Zack and Brandon, Anna and Glory:: keep those soccer balls kicking. Who knew all those years of soccer could turn into ministry? I'm sure vbs, CCCN style, is amazing for those kids.Praying that the fun the kids have helps them remember the important Bible truths. Megan, you look like you are having a great experience, I know you are loving the kids. To everyone(Zack and Bran) who is trying to figure out how to sneak home a monkey or two: monkeys as pet are not allowed in Franklin County. Love to all!
Glyn BordenHappy birthday my beautiful "daughter in love! Prayers are often for all of you . You will never be the same after this trip. Maggie @ Winston are getting a lot of TLC and doing well. Love you so much!
Stephen LinvilleGood morning Beautiful. I hope this 14th anniversary of your 29th birthday is a great one. I am bummin that I don't get to share it with you. I love you forever...
Rachael KneiceI'm jealous of you guys seeing those Mayan temples right now. Looks amazing, though! And yay Steph for doing the service! Proud of ya. :) Shout-out today goes to Hannah, Morgan, and Anna. Have fun with all those kids, I'm sure they've fallen in love with y'all. Make sure you steer them towards falling in love with Jesus, too! You have to leave them in a few days, but Jesus won't.
Joy FlemmingReally good to hear all of the great things God is doing in and through you! Still praying constantly for all of you. Press in on these final days. To Glory we love you so and look forward to hearing all your stories. To "Mrs Carol" Happy Birthday my friend. Hope you can find a donut today. If not will treat you when you get home. Go Team!!
Curt FlemmingWow - what awesome stories. Cannot wait to hear more when you get home. Have been praying for you all. Glory - don't know if you saw it or not but I put the Impact worship CD on the nano as a bonus for you. I was listening to it here at home and the song Be My Everything became my prayer for you and the team. May our Lord and Savior be your everything today. Carol - have a wonderful birthday. May it be blessed, special, and something you will remember forever. Love you all - Curt

GwenSo, Carol, you are turning 26 on the 26th right??? The good news is that your birthday is 3 hours later so you get to be 25 for another 3 more hours. I agree with Joy, you get to spend this year's birthday in a special way, sharing God's love with Belize. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!!
Joy FlemmingWant to make sure this gets out there so everyone can comment. We have a very special Birthday girl on the Belize team. Carol Linvile will be turning (insert cough here) tomorrow the 26th (yes I did remember the right day...right??). You are an amazing, stupendous, awesome woman of God and we thank God for you every day. How cool you get to celebrate in another country this year. Have a blessed and awesome day my friend!!
Stephen LinvillePraying for you all and still missing you like crazy. It is looking good that I will not have to cook dinner all week. Thank God for friends and family. Continue to give it your all and be blessed.
Sam WalkThis is a special shout out to everyone who has not received a comment directed specifically towards them. Not to pick favorites... but the unnamed people are the best.
Rachael KneiceThere was a ton of us praying for you guys tonight! Met at the church and prayed over a ton of different aspects of your trip. Made me remember all my good times in Jamaica. Anyway, giving a shout-out to my bros Brandon and Aaron. Rock those euchre games, but more importantly, rock Belize for Jesus. :) And as for Jonathon and Timmy, go hard for Jesus, guys. Serve both the people down there and your own team members.
Praying for y'all!
Gail HimmelsteinLET HIS SPIRIT RAIN DOWN! Looks like you are all accomplishing lots! Praying for each and every one of you tongiht in all areas of the work you are doing. Just got back from the group prayer for you guys. Morgan, I left a whole loaf of zucchini bread on the counter to cool and then freeze so you could try it when you got back. But alas, Rosie ate the whole thing, and half a loaf of banana bread. Hmmm, guess she like the zucchini better.
Jeremy Fredell5 things:
- keep the mission ahead of the task
- wait 30 min after eating to swim
- don't come home half-full, pour yourself out and trust God to fill your cup
- (for Jamie) can Jeff go golfing?
- please pick me up a Toblerone on your way through the airport
Auntie GwenWhat??? The Belize team beat my boys in Soccer??? What's that all about? I'm guessing Z and B weren't the goalies??? Sounds like you guys are having a great time and I know that you are blessing all of them down there because you are always a blessing to me here. Love to all!!!

Curt FlemmingLooks like VBS and soccer camp got off to a great start. It is great to see all of the kids that you are ministering to. I am praying for the people you meet and the relationships you build with them this week. As you minister today, remember Zechariah 4:6. I found this scripture very helpful when I was in England. Love you guys so much. Jumping to the left and jumping to the right with you. Be blessed!
Sam WalkI see some knees. #disrespect
Gloria MillerIt's so good to see your smiling face, Glory. You & allYour blessed buddies have been on my mind & in my prayers. My heart is filled with jjoy from Jesus as I realize it is my granddaughter serving the Lord. A special Hi to Carol, Abby, & Anna. Love you All, Gloria
Rechelle FrashThe good thing about a mission trip is that there is always someplace to go and always something to do..."One day it started raining, and it didn't quit for four months. We been through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin' rain and big ol' fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath. Shoot, it even rained at night." But like Forrest Gump, you all don't seem to let this rain stop you :) I hope you're all having an awesome time and doing amazing things for God!
Sam WalkToday I slept until noon, watched some TV, and had music lessons. Then Jason came over and i rode my motorcycle. Now we're pumped up on energy drinks and we're watching movies. Just thought you guys would be interested in how my day is going... sounds like you guys had fun too! lol
Rachael KneiceYay pictures! You guys look like you're having an awesome time. And getting wet, too! Futball in the rain is awesome. Praying for you guys. And I'm gonna give a shoutout to Elisabeth, Faythers, and Stephanie, cuz you guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!
Jessica WinieckiHope your first full day in Belize went great! I've been thinking & praying for you guys all day! As you dive into your week of service remember not to limit God by trying to make Him conform to your expectations. What He has in store for you is so much better than you can imagine! Be brave, be bold and you're going to see God in a whole new light! Love you all!
Mary Newmansafely there and ready to bless the people of Belize. I am praying for you all. HAve a WOW week. Love to all especially Anna!
Sam WalkSooooo... I'm your guys's biggest supporter, in case you didn't know. Since supporting you all is clearly a competition (I'm being sarcastic... in case you don't have a sense of humor). I will/have been praying like 100 times a day, and Im sure God's is doing some insanely awesome stuff down there! I'm so excited for you all!
Gwen WatsonI know, I actually got on the website without Z and M's direction. I'm praying for each and everyone of you. Let God use each of you according to your special gifts that He's given you. Love you loads.

Lisa G.Thanks, Sue! p.s. I LOVE Stephanie!!
Sue DeTillioThanks Lisa!
Sue DeTillioHi Lisa, Yes, I believe this is the CCCN website. I don't know who Michele is. Sorry!
Lisa G.Is someone named Michelle on the trip? I'm so confused, which happens easily.:)
Lisa G.Is this the CCCN page? My screen shows comments from our members but info from another church's trip. ???
Sue DeTillioGreat news you made it! Have a wonderful Monday in beautiful Belize! May God be with you all the way!
Krista FoxSo glad you are all there safely. Been thinking about you all day, wondering how you were all doing, what time you would get there. Woke up at 3:45am praying for all of you as you got ready to head to the airport. God cares so much about each one of you, has a plan to speak to you there, shine His beautiful light through each one of you...and show Himself, Jesus as the Savior of the world that He is.
Rechelle FrashGlad to hear you all made it! I've been waiting for news all day! Can't wait to hear about all the things God will do this week. Praying for a great start to the week, enjoy each and every moment! and like rachael i will probably be commenting a lot :)
Rachael KneiceWoot woot! You guys made it! I'm super excited for y'all. Go hard for God this week! Remember that your ultimate purpose is bringing glory to Him through all the work you're doing down there. Have a ton of fun while you're at it, too! I'm going to comment a ton, so I'm sure you'll end up hearing at least some of my comments this week.
Stephen LinvilleTo my beautiful wife and daughter, I am thrilled that you get to experience this together. I love you both. To everyone else, be blessed and have a great and fruitful week,
Laura WyniaWe're praying for special strength and grace for each of you.
A special scripture that came to mind is Romans 15: 5-6
"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, 6 so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
We love you and look forward to hearing testimonies of God's work in and through you.
