Amazing Wonders and Works
by PPM Staff
June 20, 2012 at 10:09 AM

On Monday, the team was able to joinwith the Parkway teachers and teach the children. It was a wonderful time, and they had a blast serving and playing with the kids. Some of the men then went and washed windows that needed to be badly clean. Robert and Simon were also able to scrape the old paint, and re-paint the little white fence around the Prayer Garden in the Church's Courtyard

For lunch, the team was able to enjoy local Jamaican cuisine, and they thoroughly enjoyed it! After lunch, they started the Kids Camp, and it was awesome to watch all the kids playing, and laughing, and smiling as they had fun with the whole team. This was also a great time for the team to share Jesus in a sports setting, and just overall build relationships with the people here at Parkway.

That evening the team went out to Bayside and enjoyed a relaxing time eating and shopping.

Yesterday, Robert and Simon were able to get more paint done, and finished up the prayer fence. Christine, Andie and Alex were able to work together with the other team, Gatlin Creek Baptist, to run a wonderful VBS for the children of Parkway. They were also able to make some friends! After lunch, they all headed back out the courtyard for an afternoon filled with games and fun for the Kids Camp that they are running. Shaving Cream, Water, and a Slip-n-Slide was involved! Everyone had such a good time hanging out with all the local kids! The courtyard was full of laughter and squeals of delight! That evening, we were joined by another team for a Jamaican dinner, and afterward got to participate in a Youth Service. One of the teens from Gatlin Creek gave the message.

It was a great day of Fellowship, Workship, and Fun!

God is already moving in such awesome ways, and we are honored to serve such an amazing God, and we can't wait to see what He has in store in for this week!

Yesterday the rain came. When the team arrived, the fleshly painted fence around the prayer garden had bubbled up, and so Robert and Simon, along with a few others from the group scraped the paint off the fence, all in the pouring rain. They were able to get off the paint, and have it prepped for another day. It was also another great day of VBS! After lunch, the team went to the mall for the recreation day, and later had dinner at the Taco Shack. The rain finally cleared up, and we were all able to have a church servie on the beach as the sun set. It was an awesome time of worship to God, and great to hear the stories from some of the other teams!

VBS, Work, and God's Wonders

Yesterday was yet another successful day of VBS, and building relationships! In the afternoon, most of the group went with the kids from the Youth Camp to go Bowling. It was such a great time, and the kids had a blast!! It was a blessing to be able to spend such a fun time together. While some were bowling, a few men stayed back to continue work of the fence around the Prayer Garden, and get it primed for paint. That was a God thing all in itself, since the thunderstorm was rolling in. The storm actually passed around us, but rained everywhere else in the area! It's awesome to see God do cool little things like that, to know that He cares about the painting of this fence.

God is doing great things this week, and it's awesome to watch Him move. He is so good!

Last Day

Yesterday was the last day of VBS and Kids Camp. VBS continued on smoothly, as did the kids camp. For Kids Camp, there was a huge water balloon battle!! It was so much fun!! We closed out our time at Parkway with a closing ceremony, and Robert and the Family received a framed picture of the entire VBS group. We later had our closing meeting, and did something called Affirmations, were we went around our team, and encouraged each other. It was awesome to be able to go around and affirm and encourage each other as they all set out to go home, and dive back into "life".

It was an awesome week, with lots of God moments, and life changes. The Dibbles are a wonderful family, and it was awesome getting to serve with them this week!

GOD IS GOOD!
