Community time

Knowing that yesterday was Jamaica's 50th Independence day we knew that the people at the church would be sparing. After what seemed like a rough morning we were able to walk the community and pray and talk with some people. We spent a lot of time hanging out with the children in the community and getting to talk and wish people a happy independence day. After lunch we were going to continue walking the community but we ended up getting rained out. So instead we went to Grange Hill Baptist Church, where one of the other teams is serving and help them with their work project. We had some down time in the evening so we spent it getting to know other teams and laughing, Thank you for your continued prayers for this trip.

Let's do some VBS

We had an awesome first day of ministry. We were able to assist with a VBS. We helped make salvation bracelets, played sports with the kids, and assisted in teaching them the bible lesson of the day. After lunch we were able to visit an infirmary. An infirmary is almost like a nursing home but instead no one usually visits these residents and they are usually not there on their own will. It was definitely an emotional experience that took us out of our comfort zones but at the end of the day those people in the infirmary were our God moments of the day. Please ask us about our experiences when we get home. We would love to tell you about the amazing people of the infirmary.

Rain, Rain go away.

Yesterday we spent the morning with an abundance of children at VBS. We played football or soccer with them as well as played with the frisbee. We sand songs and assisted in teaching them the bible lesson of the day. We also helped make a 4given keychain. We are pretty sure there was almost 100 children there yesterday. Today we are looking forward to more!

In the afternoon we were supposed to start on a work project at the Grange Hill Baptist Church but it started to rain for a good while. Even though we wanted it to go away so we could work it was fun to just play in the rain and cool down after the hot morning we had. The sun eventually came out and so did the heat but we worked and got dirty moving buckets of sand and rocks.

In the Evening we got ready for church and spent the evening worshiping our Lord through song, the message and prayer. What a wonderful night it was and to top it all off we celebrated our birthday people with some cupcakes and ice cream!
