Everything is Great
by Jason Swartz June 21, 2010 at 02:40 PM We all arrived safely yesterday. We thank God that all our bags made it through as well. Yesterday we drove up to Orange Walk and settled into our lodging. We ate a wonderful meal and had our team orientation. We also dressed up for church and attended a Sunday night church service where some of us shared music, faith stories, and preached. We were blessed to hear the local congregation sing some songs. One of our trip leaders from Belize also sang. His band will be leading worship this week for us at night. Today we headed to the school and started with devotions. We had a wonderful welcome. We have spent some time preparing and working on the service projects as well as begining our first day of VBS.
In The Schools!by Jason Swartz June 23, 2010 at 10:38 AM We have finished our third day of devotions in the schools. It has been a blessing to share Christ's love with the children. Yesterday, the team led 15 students to the Lord throughout the day. God is moving in our midst!
Learning about the Mayaby Jason Swartz June 25, 2010 at 09:19 AM Thanks for all your prayers! We are having a great week. On Wednesday, after school devotions and some work at the school, we traveled to the Mayan Ruins. We spent the afternoon hiking through the jungle, seeing spiders, monkeys, and lots of plant life. Our guide shared with us about the Mayan culture and customs as we toured the ruins. Some of us were able to swim in the lagoon and cool off a bit.
VBSby Jason Swartz June 25, 2010 at 09:27 AM It has been and continues to be a blessing as we work with the children. The VBS time has come together nicely and children are desiring to know the Lord more. Our team will have many great stories to share as we return!
Praying to Receive Jesusby Jason Swartz June 25, 2010 at 09:29 AM As we work in the schools and walk the streets, we are seeing that God has gone before us. People are accepting the Lord! Thanks for your continued prayers as we put in our last full day in Orange Walk.
Hanging out a little longer
by Jason Swartz June 26, 2010 at 10:05 AM We have been traveling and ministering with a couple of teams this week. This morning we found out that our flight was canceled. The other team's flights are still on schedule. We hope to know when we can rebook our flights soon. Until then, we are staying at the Global Village Hotel which is located right by the airport. We look forward to seeing everyone soon. Find out more about our trips to
