We arrived in Belize and had our groups coming together from the morning into the afternoon. While there were some lost bags, and some flight delays we are all moved into our home for the week. We arrived at Hattieville Baptist Church at dinnertime. We were greeting with big smiles and a wonderful BBQ chicken dinner! We are looking forward to a great day tomorrow.

Saturday morning we had a chance to do ministry planning for the things coming up. At the youth hostel (a half way home for troubled minors). We shared songs, Bridget and Joel shared their testimonies, Victoria shared the good news about Jesus lifting our burdens and twelve students decided to ask Jesus to be their Savior! PRAISE GOD! It was powerful! We visited, passed out New Testaments and played basketball. What an awesome way to kick off this week!

This afternoon began VBS. We had 70 students attend and enjoyed games, songs and puppets.

All of our bags came in! We celebrated with oreos. We finished of the night with the youth group. Our group shared their testimonies. We had wonderful worship and a drama too! Sunday will be a wonderful day here at the church and in the town.

What a wonderful Sunday morning we have had here in Belize. We had a great morning of worship and lead 4 groups of Sunday school, from kindergarteners to adults. This afternoon the men will be going to the prison for ministry and the woman will be prayer walking through the town of Hattieville. Tonight is the night service here at the church, more wonderful worship and encouraging words. Both Jane and Rachel will be sharing their testimonies, and Joey will be sharing a message.

Here is Doug teaching the youth Sunday school class. Sunday was quite a day for Doug. In addition to teaching this class in the afternoon he was able to share letters from prisoners in the US to encourage prisoners in Hattieville. Eighteen men stepped forward saying they wanted to live for God. Doug also witnessed to someone on the street and they prayed together for a new life with God. Whew! God is doing incredible things in our midst! PRAISE GOD!

Here we are with some of our guides from the church as we were out praying for Hattieville.

Hattieville Baptist Church was on fire with God's Spirit as we sang and danced for hours. Even though it was so hot, we gladly gave a sacrifice of praise to God. It was fun to learn the old school Creole songs like "Higher Higher", "Da Fe Me Jesus", and "God's Doin' a New Ting on Me". What new ting is God doing on you?

We started out Monday at the Mayan Temples at Altun Ha. We had such an enjoyable time learning about the history and climbing the heights! What a beautiful view it was from way up there. Mom and daughter, Donda and Matney are sharing the view from the top of a temple!

In the afternoon we were working hard here around the church. We were doing things like painting, yard clean up, and building some shelves. So much can get done with so many wonderful helping hands coming together! Doug was out weeding and getting the grass looking great.

Monday was also day 2 of VBS. We had 85 energetic children come! And thank you Lord, five children accepted the Lord as Savior. In small groups the great news of forgiveness was shared. The children colored pictures, and played plenty of football (soccer). Rachel, Brittany are teaching sweet little ones out in the yard. Tomorrow is our last day here in the town of Hattieville. Looking forward to a fantastic full day!

Tuesday, our final day in Hattieville began at the local Mennonite School. We shared a message about God’s plan for our life in an assembly and then shared in classrooms. Kim is talking with these students about drug use and it’s effects. It was a great conversation!

Next we visited the residents at the nursing home. Many of us cried as we were humbled and blessed to share that time together. The power of touch was so evident!

In the afternoon we did some work projects at the church and a couple of homes. We also have our final day of VBS and a closing service with Hattieville Baptist Church. It’s hard to believe our time here is already coming to an end. Early tomorrow we head to the caye for snorkeling, reflection and relaxation.
