We're Here!
by Danielle Hoel June 21, 2010 at 12:05 AM We made it! After a long journey we are getting settled in for the evening. Where did the day go? It's hard to believe we were in Tucson earlier today. Praise God for a successful border crossing and drive to Hermosillo! It's hot here, but the desert landscape is beautful. When we arrived in Hermosillo we were warmly welcomed by the pastors and congregations we will be serving this week, complete with songs, prayers, and testimonies for how long they have been praying to have a team come and help. We had our first Mexican meal and are getting ready for the next day's events. We are excited for all God has in store for us. Thanks for your prayers and helping us get here!
Our communityby Danielle Hoel June 22, 2010 at 08:32 AM It's only been one full day of ministry and God is already teaching us so much! We had a wonderful breakfast at Pastor Arturo's house, then headed off to our ministry site, Ebenezer church. There is a lot of work to be done! The pastor here said they have been praying for 12 years that a team would come and help, and now we are here! We spent the morning painting the church and the roof, then tearing down a dilapidated wall so that we can put a new concrete one in its place. It's a large project, but we know we can get it done. We got to split into groups and walk around the neighborhood to invite kids to vacation bible school as well. It's amazing how warm and friendly people are, even with our poor spanish skills!
God never stops
by Danielle Hoel June 23, 2010 at 09:09 AM It's the start of our last day of ministry already, and already we are sad to think about leaving. So much has happened in a short amount of time, and we'll have lots of stories to share when we come home. Yesterday we continued with our construction projects and laid the structure for the wall. There is a man from the church helping us by the name of Jesus, and we are glad to have him! Though he is quiet and a bit shy, we're becoming good friends. In the afternoon we had a chance to do more home visits and pray for a man who suffers from water retention. God encountered us in a powerful way as we prayed, and we are excited to hear how this man's life will be changed. We had even more kids show up for VBS too! God seems to be multiplying them each day. We'll see what today has in store!
Hard to say goodbyeby Danielle Hoel June 24, 2010 at 11:05 PM We just ended our final meeting and will be getting on the bus to head across the border tomorrow. The time has gone by so fast! We just finished our final meeting with the group after a surprise visit to nearby San Carlos for a recreation day. Yesterday was our last day of ministry and God blew us away with the incredible testimonies we heard and our own to share when we get home. We finished our work projects and spent most of the day with mercy ministry home visits. Talking with the people and hearing their stories has definately been the highlight of the trip. We had our final meeting with Ebenezer church and it was hard to say goodbye. A few of us shared testimonies from the week and one pastor shared a powerful message about taking the word of Jesus into all the places that still don't know him. We know this trip is just the beginning of following God's call. Find out more about our trips to

Mama KOkay so a question I could find out on my own but want to ask you guys what is the time difference between here and Hermosillo? And what is the actual temperatures your dealing with and are you all doing well with the heat? Lot's of water....and sun screen!!!!! Love you all keep up the intense hard work of our Savior and before you know it you'll be back in Mpls at the noisy airport with screeming mom's and husband's and wives to welcome you back home......ahh what a sight.....ok so maybe only I will be screaming but whatever that's the crazy spirit the Lord gave me....
He kept putting this in my heart and I just read it how appropriate!!!
Romans 12: 1-8
Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spirtitual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.....you can read the rest from the bible....wow....
The Wright StuffI just love seeing the updates, it is so wonderful to hear how God is working through all of you. You may think that you are a blessing to the people there, but wait until you see how God will bless each one of you for your willingness to be His hands and feet. Thank you for serving the Kingdom of God! Looking forward to tomorrows entry. We love you Jeff.
Mama KPraise Jesus Praise Jesus Praise Jesus......it brought tears of unbelievable overwhelming feelings I call spiritual awakening when reading this post of how they prayed for 12 years and now your there. Rachael and many of you missionaires were only 5 and 6 years old when God knew you'd be there and those types of things give me goose bumps and make me cry out to the Lord.....Praise Jesus Praise Jesus and Praise Jesus.....I am so proud and overwhelmed right now by all of this....thank you all so much for the willingness to be there to do the work of our Savior - thank you I feel so blessed just to be a part of this through you! Love Mama K

Jennifer BollomI'm sure there are already many stories to tell about how God has shown up in a big way! I'm picturing the smiling faces of the children and the grateful faces of the adults who are with you this week. Even with a language barrier smiles and the love of the Lord are universal. Make sure to drink like camels ~ you won't be able to take in too much water in 110 degrees! Hi Ethan and friends - mom, dad, and Ainsley
