Meridian United Methodist Church

We have arrived safely in Belize! We were taken to a park in the city until the other team arrived. We met our partnering team from Minnesota and together we began our 6 hour bus ride to Toledo. After a long day of travel we settled in to our home for the week; Julian High School. We are looking forward to a great time!

Today we had church in the morning and the afternoon. We were warmly welcomed by the community and even took part of their services. We lead a few worship songs and shared our testimonies with the San Antonio Baptist Church, it is the church we are serving with all week. San Antonio Baptist Church is located in the mountains in a community that speaks English and a Mayan language called Kachi. In between the services we split into groups and invited locals to this week's VBS. At the end of the day we returned to Julian High School. We played basketball and had a group meeting. We are excited to see what God has in store for tomorrow!

Today was a full day. We put together food bags that we will be distributing into the community later this week. Then we prepped the church walls for painting. After lunch we planned VBS. Around 4 o'clock the children arrived and we had a lot of fun! The children learned about the Good Samaritan, played games and made crafts. We enjoyed singing songs and spending time with the 98 children that came! We returned to Julian High School and had a team meeting. It's been a great day!

Today we got to explore the city of Punta Gorda. We walked around and swam in the sea. Then we returned to the church and had VBS. Afterward we had our group meeting and spent time together. This week has gone so fast, we can't believe tomorrow is our last ministry day!

Today we worked in a different community. It was located 30 minutes from San Antonio Baptist Church. We painted the local church and spent time in their community. Then we returned to have out final VBS. After VBS we began our journey to Hativille, a 5 hour bus ride. We will be heading to the island tomorrow !
