After hours of traveling from California the group arrived in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic yesterday afternoon. We then traveled 4 hours by bus to our ministry location for the week, Casa de Gracia, in Barahona, Dominican Republic. About 10 PM local time(7 PT) the team finally laid down for a slumber.

This morning the team shared Sunday School with the kids of the community. They sang songs and played games with them but most importantly began to form bonds or relationships.

Yesterday afternoon the team spent time playing baseball with the youth of the community. It was great to play and create relationships.

Last night the team got to experience a Dominican worship service. They worshipped alongside our Dominican brothers and sisters. Hylke delivered the sermon from Pslam 1.

Yesterday the team put on day 1 of VBS. They will be walking through the life of Jesus with the kids over the next few days. They sang songs, shared a bible lesson, did crafts and played games.

This gazebo serves as our gathering place. We start our day with devotions here, eat all our meals around this area and finish our day here with nightly worship, devotionals and a recap of the day.

The team is making progress on the construction project. The worked this morning mixing cement, moving and installing block to construct the walls of the clinic.

The team continued the story of The life of Jesus. We learned about The ministry of Jesus and how he loves us and wants a relationship with us.
