PPM Nicaragua Staff Retreat

We are in for an amazing week as our Costa Rican and Nicaraguan staff gather together to worship the Lord, grow in the Word, and grow in our leadership abilities to lead life-changing mission trips!

My name is Nathan and I have been living in Costa Rica for 2.5 years.  You'd think I would know Spanish by now, but nope!  I have 5 kids and a beautiful wife that are my world.  I'm honored to help lead this amazing weekend!

• My name is Laura, known by some people as "Little Laura", ha. I’ve been serving with PPM for almost a year and I really love it - as much as I love coffee, pizza, and cats!

Yup, I was brushing me teeth and thought "this is a good time for a selfie" so there it is. I'm really excited about spending this weekend with all of you guys. PS: I hope there will be coffee today.

Hi!!  My name is Melissa.  I'm from Nicaragua and I joined PPM in 2017. I feel really honored to work with great guys.  Anyway, I'm the only woman in a staff made up of crazy boys!!

My name is Quevit Francisco and I live in Nicaragua. I started working with PPM last year, and it has been such a blessing for my life to be able to serve alongside of local churches. If you come to Nica let me know, we can have a nice cup of coffee and some fun together.

Hi, I'm Brenda. I'm 24 years old. I love missions, serving God, and people. I'm very excited to be part of PPM.

Hi! My name is Mily. I have an 8 year old daughter, and I am a Psychologist who loves God.

Tonight we encountered the presence of the Lord through our worship. What freedom we have because of Jesus Christ!

As 30 staff gathered, we each took a moment to introduce ourselves.  Some people thought it was an opportunity to practice their comedy act!

Everyone is happy when they are eating pizza!

This evening we took turns telling our Life Story.  It’s incredible to hear how God will use anything to draw us closer to Jesus. 

Well it‘s time to wake up!  New day, new adventures.

Today we could be at the beach, river, amusement park...just to name a few.  But we chose Jesus!  We chose to get ready to do His work in our country.  We prayed, we sang  "There’s no place I’d rather be than here in Your love!“ 

One of our local pastors came this morning to talk about the importance of teamwork, and our roll as PPM staff members within the local community.

Learning the rules 

This is it....an amazing group of people who decided to answer the call and say "Here I am Lord, here I am to serve you!" 

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news.”  Romans 14:15 

Eating pizza that was left over from last night ... thinking about all of the important things we have learned

Today we got the privilege to listen to Anna and to get to know more about what PPM is about and what can happen to us on trips as ATLs and TLs. 

Remember: The missions are done with the feet of those who go, the hands of those who give, and the knees of those who pray. 

How are you going to serve?

As God keeps teaching us many things, we were able to learn about teamwork. Local church + team + staff = the work being done. Even Jesus gathered a team of 12 people to complete His work. 

We had a taco night, what a perfect time for sharing and get to know eachother even better! This is the pelican life! 

Tonight after a long day of training, we stayed up just talking and playing silly games.  I realized that the staff of both countries became more than friends - we are family now! What a great moment!

This has been a great time making so many new good friends and getting to learn more about each one of them... there is no better way to celebrate it than eating really good tacos at Tacobell.

Proud to serve with this strong man,  working hard as always.

We care about you, that's why we take time to listen to what you have to say, paying attention carefully because we understand.  You are valuable and unique.

Sharing a great time with these ladies and knowing a little more about Costa Rican culture was just awesome!

Jesus prefer us to do nothing,than to do something without the holy spirit!!!

I'm sure that finding a person similar to you is not a coincidence...they are twins - I know it!!!

Pastor Silver reminded us through the Word of the Lord that we all are leaders and the power of influence within us affects others. We just have to acknowledge that, embrace it and carry out actions in our life that reflect Jesus in us. 

Jonathan, thank you for your leadership this weekend in leading worship and bringing the Word!
