Day at the church

by Andre (Andy) Eldemire | March 3, 2019 3:29 PM

Today we woke up to a beautiful Jamaica morning. It was cool morning and it was so quiet you could hear the songs of nature.

We got up got dressed for church but not before we left and had breakfast at a small restaurant. Church in Jamaica was different for us but the experience was a great one.

After church we went to a children's home to spend some time with the special needs kids and after a couple hours we left for a popular Jamaican jerk center called scotches to have jerk chi chicken and pork for dinner.

We cant wait for tomorrow to visit the school and to start our work project.

Day one ...... School

by Andre (Andy) Eldemire | March 4, 2019 8:32 AM

Today is the day we've all been waiting for, to go visit the bethel basic school in the parish of hanover Jamaica. We are all excited to go meet the kids and love on them.

We rose earlier today than yesterday as we need to have an early start to be at the scool on time so we had to be up by 6am.

The kids were excited to see us and are all eager for us to visit them and do the lesson plans that we have for them. Today our focus is on Daniel and the lion's den. More to come later.

Day two.. last day at the school

by Andre (Andy) Eldemire | March 5, 2019 8:34 AM

Its hard to believe that today is the last day for us to be at the school, reason being that tomorrow will be ash Wednesday a holiday.

So after we got up we left for breakfast as usual which was delicious as usual and then headed off for the school. They kids were excited to see us return but we will be missing them after we leave.

After school we will be heading back to the church manse to continue with our project there, mixing cement to render the walls of the new kitchen and finishing up the bunk beds.

Today os already a wonderful being its sunny and warm and we are at the school and enjoying the kids and God's creation. Jamaica is Really a beautiful place.

Today is the last day of doing projects and being that today is a public holiday so there is no school we got started on our work project in the morning but not before we had a delicious breakfast. We got started on making some more bunk beds and continue on with some more painting. We will do much of it up until noon and then we will pack up our supplies, have lunch and then leave for the children's home so until then its back to work. Chow!
