West Main Students

After a long day of travel the team has arrived safely, we've done introductions and are ready to get to work tomorrow morning! 

Our team got to work this morning serving Old River Terrace Church. Several months ago the freeze that happened in Texas caused a pipe to burst and flood their community center with water. We got to work by taking the bottom two feet of drywall out. 

This morning we're serving at Houston Food Bank, the biggest food bank in the United States based on distribution. We are packing backpack buddy bags, for students to take home on weekends to ensure they have food for the weekend. 

Finished out our day working on removing some stumps that died in the Texas freeze. It proved to be a challenge as the plants were rooted deeply and had a firm grasp in the ground. But determination and the help of a tractor we've made good progress in removing all the stumps just before the rain! 

Following our busy day serving at Houston food bank + Old River Terrace Church we joined a local youth group for their movie night. Memorial the church that is hosting us this trip, extended an invitation to join their movie night as well.

Following a week full of work our team spent some fun time at the Houston Space Center exploring. 

And just like that, the week is done! After a week of serving and making memories the team is starting their journey back home!
