We Have Arrived In Memphis

by Cathy Kirk | June 18, 2022 11:28 PM

We finally arrived after a 2 day drive from Pennsylvania!! The PPM staff were so excited to meet the team after spending many months in prayer for this week.

The team arrived early so they could help set up and prepare for VBS this week at Shelby Forest Baptist Church.  The church family and our new friends are so excited that we are here to serve alongside them in bringing the gospel to the children in this community.

Everyone is tired and has headed to bed for the night.  We are excited to see what tomorrow brings.

Judy was busy baking pizzas for the team for dinner.  I think Tyler was trying to sneak a bite before the rest of the team came in.

The church made a delicious BBQ lunch and a wonderful pizza and salad bar for dinner.

They are spoiling our team and showing so much love to each of us.

Hay Day VBS Bible story

by Gail Deitrick | June 19, 2022 7:20 PM

Tonight’s Bible story was about Zaccheus. Ethan acted out the story by collecting taxes from the children. They were very upset, until God forgave Zaccheus and he returned their money times four.

Some of our team started the day at St. Vincent. We prepared and served food to the hungry. Before we left we picked up the trash outside the building.

Urban Garden

by Gail Deitrick | June 20, 2022 3:37 PM

For part of the team our next stop was Urban Garden. After eating our packed lunch we enjoyed learning the history of the garden and the Church from which it began.
Before pulling weeds, Pastor Randy prayed for the founding Pastor and his ministry.

Weeds Can Be Beautiful

by Gail Deitrick | June 20, 2022 3:40 PM

At Urban Garden one of the beds we were clearing contained volunteer sunflowers. They needed to be removed to ready the bed for new planting. The guys saved some of the flowers to give to the gals.

The kids were so excited to return tonight.  We began with an awesome time of worshipping and singing and dancing together.

The lot looked so much better when we left.

Ladies Car Detailing Service

by Cathy Kirk | June 21, 2022 6:25 PM

These ladies worked so hard cleaning and detailing The Liseux Community van.  It needed a ton of work.  The ladies that work at Liseaux are so busy serving the ladies from the community that they don't have extra time to do many projects.

The girls volunteered right away to clean the van.  I have never seen a cleaner vehicle.  Whitney couldn't have been more thrilled when she saw the final product.

Taylor and Aliyah are true servants for the Lord.

Craft Time at VBS

by Gail Deitrick | June 21, 2022 6:59 PM

The children are always excited for craft time. Tonight’s craft was an “I Spy” bottle. The bottle was filled with colored rice and a few tiny objects.  Now the children can spy the objects inside the bottle and remember their Bible story.
