Just Arrived
by PPM Staff | July 15, 2013
The team arrived safely to Miami around 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. After they settled into their hotel rooms we were off to Rehoboth Church for an evening service. During the service Chris and Mike volunteered to play the key board and the base guitar during worship. It was amazing to see how people of different cultures and places in the world could join together to praise the Lord. During the service Pastor Jean Louis opened the floor up to the audience to speak. A lady of the church came up and spoke to us in Creole and Pastor was able to translate for us. She was so enthusiastic about her testimony about how she moved here to America and knew no one but this church took her in and ministered to her. She also expressed her feelings that material things are nothing and that everything belongs to God. She told us that God would always be there for us when we needed him. Some of the team was also able to speak and Pastor Jean Louis translated for the team which was amazing to see in action and to see how the language barrier was broken. They also taught us some Creole phases praising the Lord. For example "Bon Dieu Benis Nous" which means God Bless you. The church would sing the worship songs in Creole then we would sing it to them in English. It was an amazing service to see two cultures worship toegether and become one body of Christ.

Yes to VBS!
by Liz Drennan | July 17, 2013
Monday got started with VBS in the morning. Soon after, Pastor arrived with the church van full of kids! We got to know one another by playing games and doing crafts, and hearing a Bible story about Daniel. The kids here are so open and receptive to hearing the Word from us, pray that they continue to be this way all week! Likte all kids, they also love to play! We played so many games like four square, and the toilet paper bowling was a great hit with them. What an awesome first day!

Basketball-Before and After
by Liz Drennan | July 17, 2013
Miami is home to the Miami Heat, the NBA champions of basketball, so the kids love to play. So on Tuesday we decided to surprise them. We bought a basketball goal and assembled it so the kids could play. They loved it!

Pharaoh, Pharaoh
by Liz Drennan | July 17, 2013
VBs got off to a slow start this morning because of a lot of rain, but by mid-morning kids started pouring into the church. The rain didn't put a damper on our day at all. Here we are leading the kids in a VBS favorite, Pharaoh, Pharaoh.
