We are here!

by Joshua Edmonds | June 15, 2014 2:20 PM

We made it to Belize! After a delicious BBQ chicken lunch with the best slaw EVER, we are off to the high school to unload. Then it's off to Pastor Garcia's house for dinner and church tonight. The Lord is up to big things. Thank you for praying for us! We can't wait to share with you all that He is doing!

More than cooks

by Joshua Edmonds | June 16, 2014 9:10 PM

Last year we were amazed by the love and service of our cooks last year. This year we are having a devotion and small gift for all of those women each day! The time ended this morning with singing Amazing Grace. We know that we know that we know...we will be spending those 10,000 years with these mighty women of God in His Kingdom!

Broken Hammer, Again

by Joshua Edmonds | June 16, 2014 9:13 PM

Today as we worked through the foundation for the bathroom, we ran into some rock. Some HARD ROCK. Here we are fixing the broken sledge hammer handle again! When we get back, ask us about 14 year old Abner and the work he put into breaking the rock!

Abner

by Joshua Edmonds | June 16, 2014 9:15 PM

Christian men, male examples in the home...these things are hard to find in Belize. We are blessed to have Abner working beside us this week. And he is blessed to have some men of God investing in his life. Here they are cutting some rebar!

Long-term relationships

by Joshua Edmonds | June 16, 2014 9:18 PM

Praying Pelican missions believes strongly in long-term relationships! We were able to see the continuation of a relationship we started last year. Last year, we met Emerson. He shared a special bond with some members of our team. Today we saw him again. It was like we had never left!

Obstacles

by Joshua Edmonds | June 16, 2014 9:20 PM

Last night, Pastor Garcia preached on not letting any obstacle prevent us from getting others to Jesus. Yes it's raining...HARD but that obstacle didn't stop us from putting on ponchos and sharing God's love during home visits. No transportation. No problem. An older brother is carrying this younger one to VBS! This first day we had over 120 kids!!! Praise God!

Women day 2

by Joshua Edmonds | June 17, 2014 11:02 PM

Look at the number of women we had for day 2 of our morning devotion. The Lord is here and His favor is resting upon us!

Street Meeting

by Joshua Edmonds | June 17, 2014 11:04 PM

Today during home visits we stopped by the only speed bump in the village by the school and had an impromptu street meeting. The youth handed out gospel tracts and Michelle brought the message! The Lord reaped a harvest! Praise God for the 1 person that surrendered his life.

The House next door

by Joshua Edmonds | June 17, 2014 11:06 PM

Words can't describe the sights we have seen and the things we have heard on our home visits in Armenia. One thing we know for sure. We are blessed. The picture here is the house next door to church.

Least of These

by Joshua Edmonds | June 17, 2014 11:08 PM

This evening we prepared the grocery staples (rice, sugar, flour, oil, milk, etc) for the 20 families we are visiting throughout the rest of the week. We separated the groceries and then spent time in prayer over each of the boxes. The Lord said "Whatever you have done for the least of these you have done to me." Tonight we served the Lord and He blessed us!

Xunantinich

by Joshua Edmonds | June 19, 2014 7:52 AM

Yesterday morning after breakfast and our devotion with the cooks, we left for the maya temple sight of Xunantinich. It was an awesome experience to see and hear about some of the history of this country that has captured our heart!

Two more to God's kingdom

by Joshua Edmonds | June 19, 2014 7:55 AM

Yesterday was a day of God's amazing provision. God provided 187 kids at VBS! Praise God for His provision of kids and our provision of energy! Also, last night as we broke off into separate men's and women's bible study, we had two people surrender their lives to Jesus! One of them was even a cook that we had been ministering to all week! Praise God for life change!

I am so very encouraged by the things I am seeing and pictures and reading. I can't wait to hear the stories and testimonies!! Praying for God to guide every aspect of this trip that He would place people in your path that need to hear the one true Gospel message. Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Revelation records that heaven will be populated by people from every kindred, nation, and tongue. You are helping to fulfill that vision through your participation in God's plan to spread the gospel to the entire world.
