Renewing Relationships

For some of us, this is our 3rd visit to Pastor Adolfo's church. It is so good to see him again and build a stronger relationship with him and his community.
Youth Night!

Tonight we were able to build relationships with the youth group. Together we played games, sang, and listened to God's Word. We had so much fun together with Jesus at the center of it all.

Jesus Saves

Our youth put on a powerful drama showing how Jesus saves us and continually protects us from the attacks of the enemy. Many tears were shed as the congregation watched.

Three years ago we brought our first team to Pastor Adolfo. We came across a man with a hurt leg so we invited him to church. He came that night and the team prayed for him...and he was HEALED! Now he is a member of the church and serves as the security guard. He stopped by to thank us for coming and he is pictured here in the blue hat.
Pastor Adolfo's Heart

This afternoon we were able to hear Pastor Adolfo's testimony, call to ministry and vision for his community. We asked if we could pray for him and he immediate fell to his knees to receive prayer. He is such a humble man full of grace and love!
Shopping Time

Today we went to the grocery store to purchase items for our Food Distribution that will take place this week. We bought enough food to bless 23 families. This ministry allows us to also bless the 23 families spiritually as well!
Praise...with Cups!

This evening we enjoyed praising Jesus with our partner church. We enjoyed watching the dance team as they danced before the Lord. They even did a special performance singing and using cups! It was amazing!

Prep for Children's Ministry

Today is the Feeding Program day! We are excited to see Jesus touch each child's life. Yet, nothing happens without prayer. We are thrilled to have an amazing partner church with a heart to serve their community.

Work, work, work, work, work

It's work time! All week long while we are doing all of the ministries planned, we will also have a crew working to build the pastor's house on the church property. This will end up saving the church a lot of money each month!

Food Distribution Day 1

This afternoon we had the opportunity to bless 10 families with a bag of groceries. They were all so appreciative! The best part was being able to pray for each family that we visited.

Everyone plays futbol (soccer) in Costa Rica! Every afternoon we have the opportunity to show Christ's love as we play soccer with them. They are much better than us though!

Night at the Norman's House

Tonight we were able to have dinner at the Norman's house. We enjoyed Papa John's pizza, hanging with the Norman kids, visiting with Laura, and seeing the place that they now call "home." We also had time together worshiping and sharing how God has been working in and through us this week. It's been amazing, but we want MORE!

This morning we went to love on the people at the elderly home. We played dominoes, and shared our stories. One precious woman asked if we would pray with her to receive Jesus Christ as her Savior. What a priviledge! We have a new sister in Christ!

Each of us came prepared to share our testimonies whenever the opportunity arises. Today we were playing in the plaza and Pastor Ryan shared his testimony with a young man who is visiting for one week from Nicaragua.

This morning we were able to visit a local waterfall. We had so much fun enjoying God's creation. The water felt so nice after sweating it out this week. Now we are refreshed and ready to get back to work!

This afternoon we were able to bless 9 more families with a bag of groceries. We were able to pray over the households and show them God's unconditional love. What a blessing for us and for them!

Youth Night Ice-Breakers

Tonight we hosted a Youth Night with the youth of Zuriel. We were happy to see some of the youth show upon that we had invited from our time at the soccer field. We had such a blast with them. Laughter crosses all language barriers.

Duke's & Anthony's Testimonies

Duke shared his testimony at Youth Night about how Jesus saved him from sin, and how Jesus gives him hope for tomorrow! Anthony shared his story of God reaching down and pulling him from the pit. The youth were impacted mightily by their stories.

School Visit

This morning we had the opportunity to visit a school in San Roque. We were given a class to minister of children with some disabilities. They took to us very easily.
Salvation Bracelets

We were able make salvation bracelets with our class. We talked through each color and what they represent. It was such a priviledge to share the Gospel with each of them using these bracelets!
Jesus Saves!

The salvation bracelets clearly tell the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Now the class is wearing them and can go home to tell their families the Good News of Jesus.

This afternoon we returned to work on the construction of Pastor Adolfo's house. He is so pleased with all of the work we are doing.
Last Day at Zuriel

It's a bittersweet day, our final day at Zuriel. We have fallen in love with Pastor Adolfo, the congregation, the community of San Rafael, and Costa Rica. This place will be forever written on our hearts.
Moving Sand

This afternoon we finished up the work project by moving a large pile of sand. This will enable the congregation to continue working now that our part is finished. We can't wait to see a photo of the completed house!
Saying Goodbye

This afternoon we took our last trip to the soccer field to play with the kids. We said our goodbyes to these precious kids and hope to see them again soon!
"See You Later" Service

Tonight we said "see you later" to our Costa Rican church family with a very emotional service at the church. Part of our hearts will always be in Costa Rica. For us it is not goodbye, but "see you later!"

Today is our recreation day so we started off zip-lining (and finished up at the beach)! God's creation is so beautiful, and zip-lining is a way to view it! Everyone zip-lined...everyone!
