Clowning around by Carlene Cummings | July 24, 2016 10:02 PM
Today the team had a great time with the the kids in Sunday school this morning. Some people dressed up as clowns! The kids thought it was hilarious. One of the leaders Kebin lead the clowns with great enthusiasm as we played games and shared the gospel.
Later the team was able to go out into the community and invite kids to VBS. We went house to house taking to parents and getting to know people around the church.
They ended out the day with an amazing church service where they experienced a new way of worship and heard a sermon by Pastor Melgar. He preached on letting the Holy Spirit manifest in our lives, and living a life devoted to Christ.

Armor of Godby Carlene Cummings | July 25, 2016 10:27 PM
Today was our first full day of ministry! The team stated out the day strong by building bunk beds while some people went to buy food for food distribution. They were able to cut wood and assemble three bunk beds! The other members went to the store and bought the basics necessities for food. They bought things like flour, sugar, rice, powdered milk and soap. Our friends from St. John's helped in buying and assembling the food bags. We will be able to deliver both food bags and bunk beds later this week.
In the afternoon the team started VBS, they had an amazing turn out. They talked all about the armor of God. Made crafts for the breast plate of righteousness and belt of truth. They also played games and told bible stories.
We ended out the night sharing our Life stories with each other and St. John's team. It was a great way to share about how God has worked in our own lives and got to know each other better.

Shoes of readiness by Carlene Cumming | July 26, 2016 11:41 PM
We started the day out with a long hike up to the top of a mean temple. We can see the top of the temple from our church! It was a long hike but well worth the view. We also learned a ton about the Mayans how they lived their lives.
In the Afternoon the team separated the large sacks of flour, sugar and beans into smaller bags to add the food distribution bags.
Afterwards they met the Idaho the soccer field for another great day of VBS! There were about 40 kids that came and made fun flip flop crafts and learned about the shield of faith!
We ended the day with a I'm gem of soccer with some kids and youths. There were a lot of laughs and a lot of sweat!!

Not goodbye, See you later! by Carlene Cummings | July 28, 2016 12:24 AM
Today had it joys and struggles. In the morning we were able to go out in the community delivering food bags. It was a joy to meet the families and spend time talking with them and praying together! It was very touching to be able to see first hand the immediate effect of the work we have done.
This afternoon was their last day of VBS! They had a great time making helmets of salvation, and there may have been some glitter involved. The kids have made such an impact on the lives of the students, it will definitely be hard to leave. But they have planted many seeds that God will use for His glory!
We ended with a great night of worship and thanks! Some people shared stories of the week and the leaders said a few words of thanks to the church and community. They have been such a blessing to us all week! They had a fun dance and lots of awesome songs. It was hard to say good bye. Until next time!
