We are waiting excitedly for our team to arrive!

Ready for our team!

We are on our way!

by Drema Jefferson | July 15, 2017 10:55 PM

The team is here and we are on our way to Nicoya. We can't wait to see what Jesus is going to do this week.

We are on our way!

Our first meal!

by Drema Jefferson | July 16, 2017 9:31 AM

We are enjoying our first meal together at Pastor Warner's house. Then, it's off to church this morning.

Church with Pastor Edgar

by Drema Jefferson | July 16, 2017 12:46 PM

This morning we attended church at Pastor Edgar's church. We learned how we should share God's blessings with others. We learned that we all have a purpose to fulfill and that God wants us to be a vessel for Him. He also wants us to continue perfecting the fruits of the Spirit in us.

Children's Church

by Drema Jefferson | July 16, 2017 12:54 PM

While the adults had church, some of us spent time playing games with the kids, singing songs, coloring, and teaching the children about Jesus. We learned about the Tower of Babel and how God has given us many  languages, but He loves us all the same. We had so much fun trying to teach them "Simon Says" and "I've got the joy" in Spanish.

Three of our group members flew in today to meet us. So, we are finally all here! Woo hoo!

We are all here, finally!

Time with Pastor Warner

by Drema Jefferson | July 16, 2017 4:33 PM

We had a chance to get to know Pastor Warner and hear his testimony this afternoon. He taught us that God can still speak to us if we take the time to get closer to Him. We also listened to his vision for the church and the children in his community. He has a heart for those children that have very little and we can't wait to be a part of his vision this week.

Getting prepared

by Drema Jefferson | July 16, 2017 8:31 PM

This evening we experienced grocery shopping in Costa Rica so we could get ready for food distribution this week. After going out to invite several children to our VBS this week, we came back and put the bags of food together. Then, we prayed over them. We believe it is going to be a huge blessing to the families this week.

Showing God's Love To The Elderly

by Drema Jefferson | July 17, 2017 11:58 AM

This morning we visited an elderly home and Pastor Warner shared the message of Jesus walking on water. Then, we performed a dance and sang a few worship songs for them. Afterwards, we asked them questions about their lives and just got to know them. We enjoyed sharing how much God loves them.

The rain won't stop us!

by Drema Jefferson | July 17, 2017 5:31 PM

This afternoon we spent some time with the children in the community. It began to pour, but that didn't stop us from loving on the kids.

The rain won't stop us!

Feeding the community

After playing with the kids, we delivered plates of food out in to the community. The smiles are on their faces were priceless.

Giving up control

by Drema Jefferson | July 18, 2017 12:01 AM

We had our team meeting tonight and Pastor Warner preached a great message about giving up control. He related it to how our day quickly turned from sunshine to pouring rain when working with the children. We may have our own plan, but God's may be different. We need to learn how to give God control so His purposes may be fulfilled, and his purposes are always better.

by Drema Jefferson | July 18, 2017 11:46 AM

Jesus Calming The Storm

by Drema Jefferson | July 18, 2017 5:02 PM

We also taught the children about Jesus and how he calmed the storm when the disciples were scared. Jesus can also calm the storms in our lives when we are afraid.

Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles!

by Drema Jefferson | July 18, 2017 5:07 PM

We had so much fun with the children blowing bubbles, and even some of the adults joined in on the fun.

Prayer For Pastor

by Drema Jefferson | July 19, 2017 10:33 AM

Last night the team felt led to pray for Pastor Warner. We visited a school in Nicoya yesterday morning to invite kids to VBS for the day and the principal invited Pastor Warner to come back and teach Christian lessons. He said this was the first time anything like this has happened in his community. So, the team prayed for more open doors and opportunities to teach to these children. Praise God for open doors!

by Drema Jefferson | July 19, 2017 12:48 PM

This morning we started off the day visiting a daycare center in Nicoya. They surprised us with dances to celebrate their Heritage day. We also got to play with them and share the love of Jesus. What a fun time!

God will multiply!

by Drema Jefferson | July 20, 2017 11:29 PM

Tonight we ended our trip with a great message from Pastor Warner. He taught us that if we give a little bit, God will multiply. Then, he prayed for us and we were all touched by the Holy Spirit. We had a beautiful time in His presence.

God will multiply!
