Immanuel Church

We are excited to be serving along with you this week to see Jesus lifted high in San Rafael as we partner with Pastor Adolfo at Zuriel!

We have all safely arrived in Costa Rica!  We had our first meal and are settling into our accommodations this week!

We are back and so excited to see Pastor Adolfo again!

This evening we met up with the youth group and spent time worshipping and playing games. 

While at Youth Group, Aidan, Ashley, and Herb all shared their testimonies of God's grace in their lives!

We spent the last part of the evening praying over the youth that responded to the altar call.  It was a powerful time!

It was an honor to worship with our Costa Rican brothers and be sisters!  Jesus passes every language barrier! 

Here in Guanacaste, this region of Costa Rica, the culture is so rich and vibrant. They showed off some of their cultural dancing and even pulled some of us up to dance with them!

Billy share some of his testimony this morning talking about what faith is.  Jeff followed up by preaching about faith versus fear, and the chains that can bind us. 

We were able to perform our drama for the first time today showing how Jesus sets us free from our chains!

This afternoon we spent time hearing Pastor Adolfo's testimony, call to ministry, and vision for his community. We were also able to pray over him and bless his ministry. 

Later this afternoon we went shopping to purchase groceries for 27 families. We are praying that God leads us to the right families and that the love of Jesus reaches many!

Tonight for the evening service Jesslyn shared her testimony and Pastor Ryan preached about how pride is destructive and robs Jesus of the glory. 

This morning we took 80 loaves of bread to the 80 homes in San Rafael with the intent to pray for each family in every home and invite them to the feeding night on Wednesday  night.

Going door-to-door, we showed the love of Jesus to everyone we met while passing out loaves of bread. 

We loved taking the time to pray over the families that we met!

Today we painted a house for one of the members of the church!  We were so happy to bless the family. 

We had a great time doing Food Distribution today. We prayed that we would hear God's voice and respond in obedience. That's exactly what happened today as we stepped out in faith!

There is always time to stop and pray for someone!

Our afternoons this week will be filled with moments like this, making kids laugh and loving them like Jesus does. 

Lexie did a great job this afternoon sharing with the kids about who God is!

It was so fun going to Nate and Laura's house, eating nachos, and playing with the Norman kids. We spent time worshipping together and sharing all that the Lord has done...and we are expecting MORE!

We started off our school ministry with face paint, decorating backpacks, playing soccer, and throwing a frisbee. 

We put on a funny skit showing how bullying hurts, but we have value because we are children of God. 

Herb's specialty was found out after he painted his first flower!  

Christiana and Simon both shared their testimonies at the school in San Roque. Krystina followed with a clear explanation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We loved seeing children raise their hands to put their faith in Jesus!

This morning we were able to paint a 2nd home. The family was so happy for their house's new look! 

It's been an honor to continue passing out bags of groceries to different families. Today we prayed for many suffering with serious health problems and are believing for their healings in Jesus' name. 

When Kids Ministry gets washed out by the rain and you're bunkered down in a bus stop, you share the Gospel!  Karlene took it upon herself to start a conversation and both ladies prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior!

During Food Distribution today we had 4 extra bags. We asked the Holy Spirit to lead us to the right homes, and that's exactly what happened.  We were received well at every house we went to, and the people were shocked that we stopped at their homes!

Kris shared his testimony today at the field with all of the kids. He shared about how God is his father and how God can use anyone!

This morning part of the team started painting the outside of the church!  It is finally getting some color!

What an amazing morning we had at the elderly home sharing the love of Jesus!  We shared our testimonies, prayed with the people, and played games too!  The man in this picture shared how his own family never visits him, but now we are his family! 

Billy made a new friend today!

We delivered the last of the 27 grocery bags today.  It has been an amazing experience being Jesus' hands and feet!

The kids were all waiting for us at the field today!  There is a much joy in this place!

After inviting people all week, tonight we hosted a feeding night at Zuriel Church.  About 125 people were fed after Melanie and Karlene shared their testimonies and we did our drama. Pastor Ryan and Pastor Adolfo also shared the Gospel message!  Over 90% of the people in attendance do not attend that church!  We are praying for fruit that lasts!

We spent the morning at the beach, enjoying some good food and buying souvenirs. This afternoon we returned for the last time to the field for a few more hours of showing Jesus' love to the people of San Rafael!

We had so much fun today!

Christiana shared her testimony with the children at the field as we ended our final time with these precious kids.   Krystina ended our time together by clearly explaining the Gospel of Jesus!

We are going to miss all of these kids so much!

As we gathered to say goodbye to our family at Zuriel Church, we stopped to thank the cooks for all of the incredible food that was prepared for us!  We ate so good this week!

Tonight's service ended with the people of Zuriel Church praying over us as they sent us home.  There were many hugs and tears. We are going to miss this church so much!
