Pastor
Adolfo Navarro
Centro Evangelistico Zuriel
Pastor Adolfo is already a PPM365 partner and enrolled in the program, but you can make a donation in their honor and support another church in Costa Rica.
Pastor Testimony:
Pastor Adolfo is from a very dysfunctional family. His mother died giving birth to him and his dad was an alcoholic. As a teenager, being involved in a gang and having a rough home life, he also injured his eye in a work accident and has been blind in that eye ever since. While in the hospital getting treated for his eye injury, he felt lonely. But, he also felt the Lord's presence even though he didn’t know exactly what it meant. At age 18, he accepted Christ at an evangelistic activity on October 5, 1967, and very shortly afterward felt the pastoral call. He studied at the Biblical Institute in San Jose for 6 years. Pastor is now 69 years old and has been in the ministry for 49 years. He is married to "Lucy." They have 2 sons and 3 daughters, and he has 10 grandchildren.
Meet the church:
Centro Evangelistico Zuriel
Centro Evangelistico Zuriel actually began in a different town called Pueblo Nuevo and was started with just 16 members. Pastor Adolfo was working a government job and the ministry was hard. He felt God call him to San Rafael, a rougher area to work in, but he knew the community had many needs. When Pastor Adolfo shared this calling with the church, over 100 people ended up feeling called to move as well, to continue the church and ministry of Zuriel. The church in San Rafael began meeting and in 2011 they bought land and began building the facility they now worship in. The church has impacted the community for Christ through worship services, teaching, discipleship, children and youth programs, feeding programs, and more. It is truly a light for Christ on a hill.
