Let's Talk Mission Trips
Learn a little bit about who we are and what we are called to do.
HEALTHY MISSIONS
Praying Pelican Missions exists to inspire unity within the global Church. As an interdenominational ministry, PPM seeks to celebrate the variety of the Church while leveraging what binds us together. There is no more powerful example of God’s love to a community than when two churches come together to serve and advance the Gospel, all in the name of Jesus.
As thousands of participants have had life-changing experiences while serving with one of our partners in our host locations, we have seen that each PPM mission trip is unique. We have found that every team leaves their trip with different experiences, perspectives, and memories to bring home with them. Praying Pelican Missions' trips are planned with the needs of local pastors and churches in mind, as well as your gifts, abilities, and goals for your group.
Here's all the information you'll want and need to know. Keep in mind that your Praying Pelican Missions trip is customizable and will be created with the needs of the local host community and your mission group at the center of everything. We've listed below some ideas for ministry options, but if you have something your team is really passionate about, let us know and we'll work to find a partnership that will best fit for your team!
MINISTRY OPTIONS
THERE ARE WAYS FOR EVERYONE TO SERVE
Children's Ministry
Minister to children through leading kids' clubs, Vacation Bible School, puppet shows, crafts, Bible stories, sports, skits, and games.
Service Projects
Provide tangible support through your work on various projects from painting, roofing, cement work, tiling, or whatever projects your local partner identifies in the community.
Church Ministry
Worship alongside a local church and participate by providing special music, sermons, testimonies, or help lead Sunday School.
Sports Ministry
Use sports such as soccer, basketball, Frisbee, volleyball, or any large-group game as a platform for building relationships and sharing the gospel.
Prayer Ministry
Bless communities through times of intercession during prayer walks or pray with local churches at a prayer meeting.
School Ministry
During the school year, your team could minister at local schools by leading devotions, tutoring students, observing classes, or participating in recess.
Mercy Ministry
Be the hands and feet of Christ as you visit and minister to those that others may have forgotten in orphanages, hospitals, prisons, and senior centers.
Evangelism
Assist the local church in outreach by handing out Bibles, street evangelism, door-to-door visits, or sharing the gospel through community movie nights.
Youth Ministry
Connect directly with youth in the community by leading a youth rally, fellowship night, or worship.
Adult Ministry
Lead parenting classes, Bible studies, or leadership training. One of our Belizean pastors shared that when you minister to adults, you are ministering to entire families and communities.
Medical Ministry
If your group has specialized medical or dental training, your skills can be of great help in many of our ministry locations. (Note: Due to government regulations, medical ministry is not available everywhere. Please call 888-PPM-4090 to find out more!)
