Friends of Santa Gertrudis

We have arrived in Guatemala safe and sound and are ready to serve in the Santa Gertrudis community.

We had our first church service last night and a lovely welcome from the church.

This morning at church, we enjoyed worshipping God with our beloved brothers and sisters from Santa Gertrudis. 

Some of us had the opportunity to join the church's worship team and worship together. But first, we wanted to pray to let God guide us during such a wonderful time. ❤️

We are very happy to make new connections in Guatemala.

Andrew shared with the church about his experience on mission trips and how important it is to have a willing heart to serve the Lord during trials and tribulations. 

Once a month, Getsemani Church has a service dedicated to mission trips to encourage church members to develop a serving heart. 

We got to learn about some cultures around the world, especially Guatemala's.

We enjoyed setting everything up for our first day of VBS.

Our wonderful girls did an amazing job decorating the church's entrance.

We had such an amazing time with the kids. 

Can't wait for day 2!

At night, we split up into three groups to participate in some Bible studies. 

These people have so much passion for the gospel! 

Some of our team members met Cesar back home, who inspired us to do this mission trip to Santa Gertrudis. Today we had the opportunity to meet with his family, get to know them, and pray for their needs.

These are the type of relationships that keep us together in Christ.

Today we had more kids than yesterday, what a blessing!

Today,  we played a different version of duck, duck, goose and the kids truly enjoyed it.

We finished the service with some worship, but we ended up extending our "see you tomorrow" when the kids started asking for more songs.

We wish we could post videos on here to show you all how crazy it was.

We have no words to describe how amazing our VBS was.

Besides doing construction projects, VBS, and food distribution we've been handing out Bibles to adults and kids, so they can learn the good news: Jesus loves you!

Tonight's church service was amazing! Some members of the church brought instruments to play some songs during worship.

We continued painting the church. We're happy to finish this project since today is our last day in Santa Gertrudis.

On the last day of food distribution, we continued to visit more families to get to know them and pray over their needs.

During food distribution, we found out that this young lady's birthday is today! 

We're glad to know the Bibles we've been gifting are being used by our new friends. We pray that kids and adults can learn more about God through these presents. 📖

Today we learned the story where Jesus performed a miracle to feed 5,000 people. As expected, we had more kids on our last day here.

During VBS we continued with our water games which are cherished by our kids. 

It wasn't easy to say goodbye to these wonderful kids. The energy they delivered during worship was uncanny! 

We love you guys! 💖

We thank you for receiving us with open arms and allowing us to serve in this community. 

These people have taught us lots of things about the gospel and how to live for Him.

It's hard to say goodbye to Santa Gertrudis and its people, but we know we'll see them again. 

Today we spent our free day walking, taking photos, and shopping in La Antigua Guatemala.

We can certainly tell you that this place has the best coffee! 

We leave Guatemala with mixed feelings: there's sadness because we leave a wonderful country and new friends too, but we can't also wait to go back home and share with you what we have seen, heard, and experienced during this week.
