The team arrived safe and sound! After unpacking, settling in, and eating a hearty dinner, we went to the beach for an evening introduction and to hear from a member of the community. Some of the students, along with a couple of youth from the Island found some bamboo and planted their "Flag," claiming an island and calling it "Steve."
A triumphant arrival, indeed!
These students are ready to work and we can't wait to see the impact they will have on the lives of those in Grand Isle!

Mama Tiff needed some volunteers to help prepare lunch and a few of the students were quick to step up! We can't wait to taste the final product!

The team takes a moment every night to reflect on their day and share ways they saw God move! This is a powerful gathering that shows the love of God in others and in the community.
Tonight a community member decided to rap for us! Many students took videos!

The team completely renovated the upper level of the church! They started by cleaning out the attic spaces, then tore down 4 bunk beds in the storage area. Then, they tore down the wall dividing the two storages rooms, and filled it with items from the lower level! There was lots of organizing, cleaning, and throwing away old stuff. The students did an awesome job and their leaders kept things very organized. Nice job!

The team had their last meeting of the trip and at the end they received these clothespin crosses as a gift from a gentleman on the island. He handmade each of these crosses as a gift for these students as a thank you for coming to his community and helping those in need. These crosses will be an excellent reminder of their time bringing hope to a hurting world!
