North Bible is in Jamaica

by Brent Kirk | June 25, 2016 10:34 PM

North Bible is in Jamaica. Everyone and everything made it to the island safely. All is well. After the team traveled about an hour through Kingston to the lodging facility, we enjoyed a little snack dinner of jerk chicken, fried chicken, fries and Oreos for a sweet snack. The team is now bunked down for some rest to prepare for a busy day tomorrow. We will update nightly. Thank you for all the prayers as the team serves this week.

Ready to worship!!!

by Cathy Kirk | June 26, 2016 3:55 PM

After a good nights sleep (for most of us anyway) we woke up to a beautiful morning. We are loving the area where we are lodging. It is beautiful we are surrounded by lush hills and mountains and our property is covered with many fruit trees, avacado, fig, coconut and breadfruit to name a few. It is cool because of all of the trees at night so that will help sleeping at night. It is super hot and humid we are sweating like crazy. We had a wonderful breakfast of pancakes, eggs, cereal and several jamaican breakfast items such as porridge, callou and their national dish ackee and salt fish. We headed to church from there which was quite a drive up a long, winding and very bumpy and curvy road but the view was spectacular. We are ready for a wonderful time.of worshipping God.

Infirmary Visitation

by Brent Kirk | June 26, 2016 11:43 PM

Today we visited an Infirmary. What a blessing for both the residence as well as the team. We spent time simply loving on the residence, sharing stories, playing dominoes, singing and reading scriptures to them. After about 2 hours with them we loaded the buses back up to head back to the lodging facility for dinner and devotion. Tomorrow we begin the hard work as we paint at the Children's home and begin construction on the new house. Wes divided the the team into 2 groups for the projects. 30 will paint and as well as hang out with the children, 16 will work on the house build. I know both groups will be blessed as they serve. Will post pictures tomorrow night. You can also add me on your Facebook if you have one where there will lots of pictures of the week being posted. Just friend me: Brent Kirk

Big Love!!

by Cathy Kirk | June 27, 2016 11:36 AM

The infirmary was such a blessing yesterday. The nurses were so excited that we were there to visit with the residents. They shared over and over again what a difference it makes in their lives when teams visit. There was a whole lot of love and a ton of smiles from everyone. The team loved hard and unconditionally.

School Devotions

by Brent Kirk | June 27, 2016 9:03 PM

Full Armour of God! That was the devotion that the team led at the Carberry Special School this morning. Sharing God's Word, with a little fun along with it, the message came across. Team members shared different aspects of the scripture as students from the school became the helmet, sword, shield etc. The students had a blast and the message was well communicated. The entire student body was present as the team lead in a few songs of worship and then shared the devotion.

Change of Color

by Brent Kirk | June 27, 2016 9:15 PM

What a difference a little paint makes! Walls that were is dire need of paint were getting just that today. 8 Bedrooms, 2 dining halls, common area, hallways and more are getting a face lift. The team is doing a great job and the children that live there were and are so excited to see the colors going on the walls. In fact, several of the children just kept grabbing our arms, talking us to their rooms and saying "Blue, blue, my room is blue" each time with a huge smile on their faces.

The Walls are going up!

by Brent Kirk | June 27, 2016 9:42 PM

Part of the team is building a new house . Today they started laying block for the walls. They are going and starting off strong despite the heat! One wall is complete and a second is well on its way. Tuesday will bring a lot of excitement as the house really starts coming together. Carla, the new, soon to be owner is so joyful and excited. As she is being blessed with a new home, she is serving the team as well. She is preparing their lunches and is spoiling them! They are raving about the food and refreshing juices she keeps them supplied with. Blessing all around!!

it is finished

by Brent Kirk | June 29, 2016 9:19 PM

Well the team has finished what they came to accomplish. The children's home has been given a great new face lift with tons of bright colors on the walla as well as several awesome murals. 8 bedrooms, 2 dining areas, 2 hallways, and a large entry area have all been painted. The new friendships that have been established at the children's home have been great and will be remembers for years to come. Mrs. Brown will soon be enjoying her new home thanks to this team. What a blessing it has been seeing the walls go up. Although there was just to much to do and not enough time to finish it, it will be complete soon. Hard work and great workers this week. Now we have left Kingston to enjoy a night in Ocho Rios at a hotel on the beach and then tomorrow a day at Dolphins Cove to close the week before heading home on Friday very early. We will leave for the airport at 5am. Thank you North Bible for an awesome eweek with your students and adult leader's. Many blessings

This is God-awesome to witness our youth on their spiritual journey. I continue to pray for the Angels of heaven to provide a hedge of protection over the entire body.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you extended our family into Jamaica through our youth. Your ways are higher than ours, your plans perfect. You prepared for this trip before we even understood. Nobody on this team is here by accident. May your love be bold, your purpose be declared and your kingdom expanded this week in Jamaica. Protect this team from things seen and unseen. To you be the glory, Jesus. Thank you PPPM for saying "yes" to the Lord.

It is so great to hear what the group is doing every day. We can't wait to hear about it and we love to see the pictures! We are in prayer each day for both the kids serving as well as the kids being served. We pray they would all experience the power of Jesus Christ.
