Valley Christian School

We arrived at Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina! We are getting settled in and we are excited to begin the week in worship tomorrow!

This morning we were blessed to worship alongside our host church. We were warmly welcomed by Pastor Dane and the entire church. Thank you Providence Baptist Church for hosting us this week and for making us feel so at home here!

We spent the afternoon at our host church learning more about the community we are serving in and growing closer together as a team. We shared our life stories with each other and prayed over each other. Of course we had a little fun in the Carolina sun too. We are ready to serve this week!

Today some of us are serving at Charlotte Family Housing. When we arrived this morning we played a game that put into perspective what it is like to try and take care of a family with low income. Now we are cleaning around the facility to give the residents a nice break from chores today!

This afternoon at Charlotte Family Housing we assembled blessing bags with snacks we picked out at Walmart in the morning. We pray these bags are a blessing to the teens who will be receiving them. 

One of our own volunteered to lead the group devotion tonight. We learned about Nehemiah. 

Today a group of us served at Church of God Children's Home moving furniture and various other items to help clean up and organize around the facility.

We are working hard to do our best at every task the Lord gives us this week. We talk a lot about how everything can be done in service to the Lord and to share His love with others. We have been working hard to leave garden beds free of weeds and hundreds of windows squeaky clean. 

What better way to have some team fun than with a giant game of spoons!

Today we served at Samaritan’s Feet, an organization that provides shoes to people in need around the world. We sorted around 3,000 pairs of shoes!

Tonight some of our girls led us in our devotion. We learned about Esther’s confident faith and obedience and talked about ways we can boldly live out our own faith.

For rec day we headed to the Billy Graham Library and had an amazing experience hearing about his legacy and learning how to share the Gospel. We then went to the Discovery Place science museum and did some souvenir shopping at the mall.
