Greetings everyone back home!

We've made it safely to Belize and we're excited to get started with our week of ministry on the western boarding! We drove 2 hours to get to Soccutz, which is where we will be staying and doing our work all week. Keep us in your prayers as we start to do God's work down here! We'll keep you updated as the week goes on! GO BLUE!

Happy Father's Day!

Today was a very successful day for us as a team. We had a great time attending a local Belizean church with the congregation we will be serving with this entire week. The church had many fun "Father's Day" activities that we got to take part in! You should definitely ask us about it when we get home.

Our afternoon was also eventful. The Praying Pelican staff split us into groups and sent us into the village to meet the local people and invite the children to our week of VBS. It was so much fun to meet so many new people that were so welcoming to us Looking to get a good nights sleep tonight because there is a lot of work to do tomorrow! Hope all is well back at home! As always, GO BLUE!

First full day of Ministry!

Today was a whirlwind of different ministries, and also different weather! We were blessed with mainly overcast and misty skies for a majority of the day allowing us to start construction and our painting project in relative comfort (as opposed to 100 degrees with 100 humidity). We worked extremely hard and the Praying Pelican staff were impressed by how much we could accomplish in only one day!

We saw a brief, but heavy rain fall during our service projects, which made for a muddy time at VBS! However, it turned out great! The kids are wonderful, and we couldn't be happier with the turnout of the first day. We did arts and crafts and games with nearly 70 children from the village and we're expecting more tomorrow!

Please continue to pray that the weather cooperates with us as we strive to finish our projects this week!

Singing in the Rain:)

Today was another great day down here in Belize! We had an amazing morning of ministry and construction. In the afternoon we had the opportunity to visit a Mayan Ruins site near the village we are serving in called Xunantunich. To get there we had to take a ferry across the river, once across it was a mile hike to the ruins. This would have been uneventful had it not been for the incredible amount of rain that was dumped on us! However, the rain didn't put a damper on the day. We really enjoyed getting to climb to the top of the ancient Mayan temple and view God's incredible creation (we could see all the way into Guatemala!).

Tomorrow is our last full day of ministry here in Belize. Please continue to pray for us as we serve and experience all Belize has to offer!

Wednesday = WORK day!

The sun came out for our last full day of ministry here in Soccutz. Praise the Lord! With the weather cooperating we were able to get some serious work done at both our construction and painting site. At the end of the day we were able to look on both and feel that we had accomplished what we had come to do.

In the evening we had a closing service where we got to thank Pastor Reyes, our cooks, and the two gentlemen who assisted us on our construction project. It is hard to believe that this is already our last night at the Soccutz Nazarene Camp, but we're all looking forward to going out to the Caye tomorrow! Pray for safety in our travels and a good time at the Caye!

Caye Caulker!

Our last day in Belize we got to spend on the Beautiful Island of Caye Caulker. We really enjoyed exploring the island and had blast snorkeling near Belize' barrier reef. While snorkeling we saw cuddle sharks, sting rays, and many other tropical fish and wildlife! It was a great way to spend our last day.

In the evening we got to have our final group meeting and devotional time. At the end of the meeting, we got to present our annual Paper Plate Awards! There were a lot of laughs and everyone left feeling good about another successful missions trip! We're heading home tomorrow! Please pray for safety during our travel. See you all soon!
