We're back in Kellits!

The 2010 St. Andrew’s mission team arrived safely in Montego Bay this afternoon. After a wonderful lunch at the Pork Pit, we began the long journey to Kellits High School. Arriving early this evening, everyone settled in and we had a great dinner prepared by Mrs. Barrett and her team of cooks who helped last year also. We just finished the night with a team meeting and a time of training in the area of generating conversations. This will be used as a tool by our team to minister to the people near the Staceyville church all week. We’re all tired and going to bed. Ready for an amazing week of ministry!

We spent the morning on Monday canvassing the area and inviting folks to our Vacation Bible School at the Staceyville Church as well as the block party we hosted at the church this evening.

Our team's cookout and block party in Sandy River at the Staceyville Baptist Church was a huge success. The cook crew began preparing food mid afternoon and the night didn't finish until close to nine.

Over 200!

July 26, 2010 at 09:08 PM

It's estimated that over 200 people were fed or showed up to the block part and cookout at the church. Praise God for all HE did through our team!

This evening we also stopped by the Rhodenhall Baptist Church, where our fearless leader Ricardo pastors, and enjoyed a bit of their youth concert. We're all heading to bed after an amazing day of ministry and living in the light of God's love.

Bring on tomorrow!

A fun filled, God bless day

This morning we were up for worship and quiet time wih God , seeking his directions for the day. we were then fed with a delicious jamaican breakfast consisting of boild banana, salted fish, Pancake, fruits, juice and bread and jelly.
It was now time to take our travel to Staceyville to see what God have in store for us. VBS was exciting as we interacted with over 130 children from both Staceyville and Rhodenhall. It was indeed an awesome experience.
We returned to the Kellits High School for lunch, which consisted of white rice with corn, curried chicken and fried chicken, and wow it was great! After lunch we had some time to relax and recharge before going back out to the Staceyville Baptist Church.
This afternoon we were involved in the construction of the bathrooms, while a group went into the community for prayer walking, and another group stayed near the church to minister through sports.
We're getting ready for an evening meeting tonight and we're looking forward to a full night of rest so God can use us once again tomorrow.

Today has been an amazing day. We saw over 160 children come to the VBS where they received their printed pictures that were photographed the day before by Lora. They put them in a frame and decorated them as a reminder of how God loves each one of them individually.
This afternoon we joined together to practice sharing our life stories with each other. It will be a great tool for tomorrow and as we return home to minister to others through sharing our faith story.
God revealed Himself in great ways tonight as we spent time in worship at the Staceyville Baptist Church with a lot of people from the community. Our team showed some video clips that paralleled our faith and Michael led us in a powerful time of worship.
It's hard to believe that tomorrow is our final day of ministry at the Staceyville Church. Pray that God will have His way in what happens. Thanks for all your prayers and support. Blessings!

Our last day in Sandy River?!
by PPM Staff
July 29, 2010 at 03:26 PM

Today is our last day in Sandy River serving at the Staceyville Baptist Church. This saddens our hearts as we've had an amazing trip. In this picture you can see some of our team members handing out children's Bibles. We gave one to every family of children that attended VBS this week. There are some extras that we gave to the church to hand out to kids as they return to church on Sunday morning.

Moxons and Dunn's River!
by PPM Staff
July 30, 2010 at 04:11 PM

Our day of fun in the sun began with our typical morning quiet time and devotions at the Kellits High School. We drove two hours north and checked into our hotel- the Moxons Beach Club. It's a beautiful place right on the caribbean ocean with a pool and dining area overlooking the sea. We then went into Ocho Rios and grabbed some lunch- most of us had BK! After lunch a few people chose to return to Moxons to enjoy their afternoon relaxing and the rest of us went to Dunn's River Falls where we climbed the natual water fall flowing from the hills into the ocean. We're awaiting dinner at our hotel and tonight we'll be having our debriefing meeting. It's been an amazing week and it's nice relaxing and reflecting on what God has done. Tomorrow our team leaves at about 2pm. Thanks for all your continued prayers throughout this experience, we can't wait to share more with you!

I love looking at the pictures of what you all are doing! My prayer is that God will use each of you to serve as a clear reflection of Christ to the people that you are reaching out to. I am so thankful for this experience, both for all of you, as well as the people that you are serving. God is doing great things!

Praying for you guys - for wisdom, compassion and unity; that you see with His eyes, that you love well and that you follow wherever He leads (even in the unexpected or not-so-comfortable ways). I can't wait to hear your stories , both about how God is using you and what He is doing in you. Love you all!
